The School as an Agent of Change in Society

Greetings dear Stemians today once again I want to continue reflecting on Education and is that in my daily journey from school to see so many young people form full of illusions, overcoming obstacles, betting on a full life in my thoughts I question and wonder : Can the School change the Society we have? and I remember the words of an unknown author: "The School must resemble the Society that we want but not the Society that we have". What if! to change society, to make this a great home where we all fit as brothers and even where we accept our differences it is necessary to change human beings and this implies that the educational centers where the Person is largely formed must recover its humanizing task, we must stop being simple producers of people full of knowledge and skills but empty of heart.

Consequently, we urgently need the school that is capable of leading this world so convulsed by detractors and antivalores to the order of the day. An education that awakens in our hearts to that human being that we all have inside and that nurtures in a positive way our personality and makes us discover what our mission in this world is.

Finally I want to share with you an experience with the students of my school that appear in the photograph above, they are already in the last year of study and are currently developing a community pastoral project called "Activating Motors for School Support" which consists of collect clothing (school uniforms, footwear) and supplies (notebooks, pencil, colors, among others) to donate to the most needy classmates. This is a sign that the school can instill values and that it can promote citizens who believe in the common good.
