My humble experience of drawing people and dinosaurs
To be honest, I would never have had the idea to redraw someone's picture on such a crazy topic, where a simple boy sitting on the bank of the river in the company of Triceratops. But friends have asked me to make this drawing and I came from.
To begin with, I made a detailed sketch, then tried to apply a masking liquid to make a mask of those places in the picture that will be light. Then I gave up this idea, because the paper for the picture was chosen too porous and it began to tear when I began to remove the dry areas of the mask.
Starting early in the morning, I drew the work from start to finish during the day. This is an usual watercolor, and only a few places I had to do with whitewash. It turned out similar, and now I have experience in drawing dinosaurs!
I love dinosaurs and water colors.
You have combined the best of both. This is a unique and very nice looking painting. Well done!
Can I ask more about the masking? I didnt quite understand what you were describing. Thank you,
Peace
Thanks, @em3! There is a masking liquid for working with watercolor. It is applied in places where the bright white spots must be stayed on paper. When the liquid dries, you paint a picture and then the mask is removed. A very handy thing by the way!
Okay, thank you very much for the explanation!!
I look forward to more of your watercolors!
Peace
Awww... that is a very friendly but strong looking Triceratops @yurche. I love the soft watercolours and it feels like a cover poster of one of those heart warming tales like Land before Time or Never Ending Story and it certainly makes a good book cover for a story of similar nature. Thank you for sharing this piece of artwork with us. I like how comfortable the boy is sitting beside the dinasour :)
Thank you, @marblely for your warm comment! : )
:) Thank you for sharing your beautiful artwork with us. Do you plan to draw more friendly dinasours? I like what you did with Mr. Triceratops :)

Really stunning work, @yurche, as always! Congrats on your Curie upvote. You deserve it!
Thank you, dear @jayna!!!
I am surprised to read that you don't draw dinosaur often since it looks so good here, it looks playful and powerful at the same time, a good friend and guardian for the boy. The colours that you painted here give heavy fantasy feel to the whole illustration, I really like it.
Congratulations for your curie vote, yurche :).
Thank you, @scrawly! Once upon a time, as a child, I certainly drew dinosaurs. Perhaps that is why I can now, although to me this topic is not very close in the works
I like to see a friendship between a dinosaur and a boy. The colors that you used are so nice. It's a beautiful watercolor. The dinosaur is perfect!
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you very much, @delishtreats! : )

Dinosaurs are soo coool, it nice to see them depicted this way, with a child it makes it feel innocent and calm, no the often meat grinding machine and stuff, love the dreamy atmoshphere!
Thank you! Yes it really looks like a kind handy dragoon : )
