Classcraft employs video game mechanics in the classroom to provide a more rich and interesting experience. Teachers can overlay course content onto interactive maps, creating a dynamic adventure for students. As students complete tasks, they progress in Classcraft and level up their character’s abilities.

Abilities can be used periodically to take advantage of special privileges designated by the teacher or to aid other students in exchange for experience. Students earn points for positive behaviors and can spend them to customize and level their characters. They receive daily “Action Points” which are used to harness abilities.

Students learn to depend on one another and develop cooperative relationships, which encourages a healthy classroom atmosphere. Classcraft offers teachers a suite of interactive tools to drive engagement and build positive classroom culture.

The genius of gamifying behaviors is that even students who are normally disengaged can find school interesting again. It encourages better behavior and better grades and gives students something to work for, that they actually value.
