New reality in learning is the future

Recently, taking part in one seminar, I learned how much changing the approach to learning in our days. Examples of foreign experience, struck me, in this connection, the idea arose to share information and your thoughts.

For most people training is now becoming a dominant regular activity, although it manifests itself in many only in the form of watching TV, the Internet (social networks), the usual work and household chores.

It is noticeable that in our days the emphasis is strongly shifted towards the ability to think critically, develop interaction, curiosity and creative approach to business.

Experts in this field say that the time we give for the sake of learning, modern man soon grows (due to increasing of daily tasks in front of us), learning acquires features have "a life necessity".

Earlier, the education system in most countries (and we have in the country now) encouraged the students for how much they know, for the mere accumulation of knowledge. The main focus of teaching should be developing the ability to get information quickly to appreciate it, not just accumulate.

In this classic lecture education, to which mankind has used for thousands of years, changed in favor of independent, project-based learning, mentoring (which has previously been available only to wealthy members of our society, but they could be mentors). And today, thanks to the Internet, students are not seldom have good knowledge in some areas, even better than their teachers.

For example, my nephew, not having a legal background, and having found numerous legal practices, and other information from the Internet without difficulty taking part in disputes without the involvement of a specialist. We can say that the trend leads us to the so-called need to learn about the learning process :-)

I read that at the world economic forum even made 3 the list of needs for the modern man:

  • literacy (ability to read, count, scientific and cultural literacy)
  • competence (ability to solve problems, assess risk, creative approach)
  • qualities (curiosity, entrepreneurial skills, teamwork)

Today, many of us, it is important to acquire knowledge individually (it is in a convenient location and at a specific time), the benefit of the development of technologies already it is more than allows. Most of the learning is already moving into a virtual environment (online) with the support of the analysis of the vast amount of information about the dynamics of students and the personification of those under each of the new listeners.

According to the famous researcher Michio Kaku very soon, like built-in Google glasses augmented reality technology, transformirovalsya in tiny lenses, with the ability to load them with all the necessary information (and will be available to the wide masses of the population). It does not have to overload your brain with knowledge, which, as practice shows, subsequently not used by us. But a kind of "mental reserve" can be used for the development of abilities to analyze, to argue and to make more informed decisions.

It is likely that such changes will disappear as unnecessary, and diplomas will be simply arranged by the certification of a set of existing competences and skills, then assign recommended us positions (career guidance of the future).

I think that a few decades after the introduction of this education in society, the development of many of us will reach a level at which we will be constantly connected to the "common knowledge" and the process of learning something new will happen in real time. But to succeed, all will seek to develop skills that are not available robots: creativity, imagination, initiative and many more...
