Raising People out of Poverty, A @schoolforsdg4 Fundraiser.

in #education7 years ago

On a large scale we can't solve world problems, but we can apply the advantages of large scale resources to help target solutions on a smaller scale directly where the problems are.

I recently saw a video how western countries take in immigrants from impoverished countries. Unfortunately, the amount they take in barely makes an impact and they are rarely people who probably need it the most. In fact the ones they take are those who have enough of an education that, given the right resources, they could do more good in their own country to help alleviate the poverty.

So instead of western countries interfering with other countries, perhaps they should be asking those living in impoverished situations what could be done to help improve things where they are. Perhaps instead of throwing money at situations, which doesn't always go where its needed, they could offer support and, if needed, education to assist those in the area willing to try to make changes to improve the situation.

@azizbd is one of those trying to make a difference in Sylhet, Bangladesh through his @SchoolForSDG4 and @womenempowerment projects. By educating and empowering all the people to make a difference, change can happen. Through Steemit we can directly help to fund @azizbd's projects and see reports from him how those funds are spent.

@womenempowerment

Empowering women is linked intrinsically with education and bringing people out of poverty and this article explains why.

This post is a fundraiser for @SchoolForSDG4 which aims to provide not just education, but nutritious food for slum children. Currently they have enough regular income to provide fruit once a week and a cooked meal once a month. My hope is that if we can increase this regular funding enough they may be able to provide food even more regularly. I believe the food is available to all slum children, not just those who attend the school.

The SBD from this post will be donated to @SchoolForSDG4

We should collaborate some time. I created a page @cooking4charity that will be focusing on raising funds for this. I just moved and have limited internet resources right now. But the page will be sharing recipes and I am going to be starting a cooking vlog when our internet finally gets turned on. All SBD raised is being donated to the food program with high goals of expanding once we get the entire food needs of @schoolforsdg4 taken care of. There are a few other schools in other countries I hope to expand this to. I am looking for help posting recipes if you have any you want to share. I am willing to share the posting key to the account.

What a good idea. I was just wondering myself how to move forward with a regular fundraiser as there is only so much can be said about the actual school project itself. I'd very much love to see them reach that goal of all food needs provided for. I'm not the most knowledgeable of cooks, I'm afraid, but happy to do what I can.

Give the page a follow and an upvote when we post something new. Which I actually hope to have something new tonight or tomorrow.

Already followed. Looking forward to seeing it grow!

Thank you. I appreciate the support. I was recommended to use the tag, but didn't realise you were an actual account to. Now following and supporting.
