Learn Guitar: Heuristic 1 No #/b between B & C and E & F
This lesson will restate all the twelve notes in the chromatic scale. It will then discuss a useful heuristic for remembering the twelve notes.
What in the world is a heuristic one might ask?
It’s a learning device, a method tool that is used to describe part of the zeitgeist of all these music words.
All the notes in the chromatic scale are (# and b are pronounced sharp and flat respectively):
A A#/Bb B C C#/Db D D#/Eb E F F#/Gb G G#/Ab A
As you might notice there is no #/b between B & C and between E & F. As heuristic 3 will discuss, heuristic 1 which covers the note perspective and heuristic 2 that covers a similar thing in the interval perspective overlap in the key of C Ionian. What specifically this means will be discussed in that lesson in 2 days, but is mentioned here because? Repetition is an important part of learning!!!
