ArcGIS 10.3: Tutorial Assignment 1-2 Solution - Produce a Crime Map

As I stated in my previous post, I am currently taking a graduate course in GIS using AcrGIS 10.3. I noticed after an extensive online search, there was very little information of the chapter assignments. Many people may have issues trying to understand the instructions in order to complete these assignments. I decided to create so posts to cover these important exercises.

This is the second post in this series, covering the second assignment in Chapter 1. You can view my first post which covered the following assignment:

The Solution: Build the Map

The map indicates as instructed, crimes in the blocks on either side of Erin Street between Webster, Wiley, Davenport, and Trent. 13 total because multiple incidents are at the same locations.

Microsoft Excel Database Data:

For the final part: Create a Microsoft PowerPoint document. You simply create 3 slides:

1. Your name and a title: Assignment 1-2: Produce a Crime Map
2. Exported map in .JPG format at 150 dpi
3. Imported Excel database.
