The Importance of Humility

Humility is defined by the English dictionary as the "quality of having a modest or low view of one's importance". To me this definition carries a lot of meaning and is associated to so much that draws my attention. And trying to interpret it leaves me with nothing than to say Humility is what brings you to lack of pride, submission, quietness modesty, meekness, lack of vanity, humbleness, unassertiveness, diffidence, just to name a few. Humility brings you to that level that you careless about yourself putting others first qualifying your humbleness, takes you away from pride and arrogance.

So I would say one of the most important and powerful aspect towards growth and leadership is humility which brings you closer to your goals. You have to change from who you are to have an impact on the society. If you are a humble man you won't lack pride in your accomplishments, what you will rather need is the tone, time, and place to let people know about it. Humility has as an asset to take you away from pretends, something that can kill your carrier as a leader.

1. Asset to self-improvement: A humble life improve you everyday, making you easily realize the areas of your life you need to improve. You will easily accept peoples suggestions to aid your performance, and admit your technique is not the best. Without humility such an advice will not sink in you.
2. Improve the inner well-being: Frustration and anger is what we often experience in our life struggles. This can only be understood and dealt with adequately when we understand humility. This together with your passion takes you only from one great step to another.
3. Improves your ability to learn: You can only teach others when you learn from your mistakes and try to improve your performance. With humility, you build the foundation to be able to admit you are not perfect and think of the different things you should do.
4. Creates a variety of possibilities: As a person, you might not always have answers to your questions since your experience depends on your view of the world. But humility opens you up to exploring endless possibilities, new perspectives, personal growth, and stronger relationships.
5. Leads to curiosity: With humility, you will always remain curious. You will likely ask relevant questions at the right time, and listen to relevant responses that will improve your skills and performance. Curiosity adds a listening value to your life.
6. Improves and magnifies your strengths: When you are humble, the trust people have for you is strengthened, you will also grow to build loyalty and confidence among others. You will come to see that all your positive attitudes are magnified.

These are some the reasons that make me see humility is necessary in our lives. On my next post, I will talk on how to develop humility.
