I have to begin by noting that public education is anything but what those words claim. It is more accurate to call it government schooling. It is designed to create good workers, not free thinkers *.

Today's sudden onslaught of options has begun to render compulsory schooling to be nothing more than a relic. I think it is inevitable that this old system will not only fail but it is going to be replaced by options that will be far more robust, voluntary and peaceful.

That said, I do understand we have a long time to go until the majority of people understand this. There is a long history; a multi-generational culture that obedience and rote learning is the key to success.
