Prepping Up for School Year 2018-2019

in #education6 years ago

Wasn't it just yesterday when I posted my New Year's post? Time flew by quite fast I must say. It's also just like a while ago when I pulled out the April sheet off of the calendar. Now, in a few days I'm ripping off that for May's.

Every parent knows. This is one of the busiest times of the year. It's the time to scout for schools, or register and enroll if you already decided on one. Hours of scouring bookstores to get all the school supplies and books needed. Not to mention visiting tailor shops to custom make school uniforms, department stores to complete the outfit.

The hardest part? Making sure you got all finances getting those covered.

We have two to send to school this year. Kiera is now advancing from daycare to a more serious prep school while Kiero moves up to 3rd grade. Both are now enrolled at a private school near us.

While it was a choice for us to pick a public school instead, we decided otherwise. Not that we don't trust the public school system here in the Philippines. If you are living here you would know why. Public schools are faced with problems. Lack of classrooms or even when they have, they are either dilapidated or worn out, shortage of teachers, and security issues just to name a few. My husband and I work for both these kids welfare, I guess it's just right to pick what we think is best for them.

We had them enrolled last week, making our wallets a little lighter. I even joked around with a post on Facebook saying; "Kiero and Kiera: Officially Enrolled. Me and Jay: Officially broke". Alongside paying their tuition fees we also had to pay for school uniform and school kit. And it didn't stop there. Right before we left, they handed us what's needed for the whole year. So come Saturday, we headed to the malls to complete the list. We wanted to do it that early to avoid school rush.

I'm excited to see them off to school and learn things I can't teach. Just the same, I am also now wondering how my schedule will be like once they start schooling. Let's see. For now, I'll just savor the moment that we're all covered for all the preparations needed this school year.

Thanks for reading!

Love,

Indeed! Time flies so fast Ms. Jonah :) Kid's vacation is almost over :)

June is drawing near! Enrolling kids near your place has a lot of advantages. I also prefer to enroll my son in a private school not because I have money to do so, but because it is more convenient for us to send him off the nearest school from our house. We can minimize the expense for the travel fare because we can just walk to and from the school :) Plus I feel more secure to know that my son is just inside our subdivision. Moreover, I can see that the Kid is enjoying his schooling so I think I made the right choice for him.

That's true. I don't have anything against public schools, after all, I went to one for two years back in grade school. But, I don't believe it is the same as it was before. Back then, we didn't have to share rooms with another class and it was just for a max of 30. Now, they go up to 40 and share rooms or go on shifting schedules. While that may be convenient for some, it just isn't for me.

You saw our kids in Cafe Moracco, yeah? It was just Kiero schooling then. Now, it's both of them so we really had to squeeze every cents out our pocket. So far, every year, Kiero shows us it's all worth it.

I am a product of public school and I can attest to your statement. Then and Now are way far different! And I believe our president will think of something or should I say they have plans already to solve those kind of problems. I hope that it will be very soon because tuition fees in private schools aren't a joke. It's just that we choose what's best for our kids ♥

That's why I am thankful in this platform for it is a great help to us with regards of paying school fees of our kids and some financial needs. Hope to see your lovely family soon! I'll surely bring my son too to play with Keiro and Keira :)

Hugs and Kisses Ate Jonah ♥

Surely, they aren't. 1 kid's TF is a year's worth of desserts supply for me! Hahaha! Goodbye, ice cream!

Ohhhh Don't say goodbye to it! You can still have a little of it right?

I hope so! Lalo na sa init ngayon!

True Ate Jonah! Lalo kahit gabi! Napakainit :(

Hello @beateneggI, Nice here from Amsterdam
have been reading about You giving the mistakenly transferred money back to @bunnypuncher. You are the kind of people I like to hang out with.
I am reading Your story, having 5 kids myself I do recognize the preparations and money stress getting the best for Your kids.

Thanks, @nicnicy. Feels good to be a tool to restore faith in humanity.

I only have 2 kids and they are a handful! I can only imagine how much effort you put for 5. I'm sure you can do it. My parents did. We were 5 kids in the family too. All raised pretty well!

Good afternoon from my side of the world!
