Why the educational system is a joke!

in #education6 years ago

Back in the fall I decided to take a course at the college in my town, I went to one class and before deciding it was not something I was actually interested in being 'taught' and didn't go again. I never handed in anything in and I ended up receiving a B+!
The reason for my post is because I feel like the educational system is a joke. They push along students, regardless of if they go, the work they're doing and their knowledge on the subject. As long as the school is getting paid...
We all wonder why there are so many kids that are depressed, suicidal, have low self esteem and have anxiety. This is part of the reason! Nothing that they are 'learning' matters at all, just the paycheck.
Then, to cope with these mental problems from not being happy shuffling through the motions, they go to the doctor for a solution. The doctor prescribes them anti-depressants and other medications to mask the issues at hand. Another paycheck.
The drugged up student is slowly drained of energy, getting into greater debt, while being 'taught' to memorize generally useless knowledge.
Then, when they get out of school, they shuffle along and look for the next paycheck.20180311_150342.jpgFB_IMG_1520791752409.jpg

A BIG yes to this! You know how I feel about "Programming" and the misinformation that we have been "fed". Keep Shining Amy. 🙏

Always!

Good call on the educational BS. Look fwd to read about the solutions. It's not the same in other parts of the world... maybe time to jump out and see what's cooking elsewhere?? :)

Thanks! Which other parts are you talking about?

Asia for one. Here in Chiang Mai, Thailand there are many creative educational models - take a look at Panyaden School online.

It's ironic how the meme above says "...a uneducated...". Really? A meme about education and the grammar isn't even correct? haha

Anyway, that's crazy you still got a B+ even without submitting a thing!!! There are many benefits to going through the K - 12 education system IMHO, but there are also many benefits to home schooling etc. It all depends on the family's resources, the school the child goes to, family background, location in the world, etc etc etc.

Lol spotted that 👍

Keni, the grammatical errors in your own posts and comments reach far and wide. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
