For a few weeks now, the Earth Rangers have been moving around the community scouting for seeds of avocados, mangoes and plums as well as plastic bottles.

So far, they have collected and nursed over 250 seeds of avocados and 300 Mango seeds pending to be nursed in their UPB Plant Nursery Pots
This means in the next few months, Mother Earth will be enjoying some brand new fruit trees nursed by the Earth Rangers.
The work of these Earth Rangers is giving our dreaded enemy, Climate Change a big scare and we believe, by the end of the year 2025, we must have planted One Million Trees to promote food and water security, medicine and fight climate change.
The nursing of One million trees will mean the removal of 500,000 Plastic Bottles from the environment since we are using Plastic Bottles as our Tree Nursery Pots.
You can learn more about UPB Tree Nursery Pots here;

We believe, we will #BeatPlasticPollution and promote a healthy, safer and more sustainable environment within the next five years.
Stay tuned to more updates from the Earth Rangers.

Trees that produce FOOD to me are always extra special - food for the bees, food for us, shade and food for our tired souls. Lovely work happening there. I too, have about 25 avocado pits on my kitchen bench awaiting planting out. :)

@ecoTrain

I definitely like the occasional avocado. I recently ran across a viedo about their production and was very supprised at how much water it takes to grow a kilo of avocado.

In other research I learned that large corporations are planting enormous orchards of them in South America and South East Asia. The environmental impact is devastating and water taken from the very poor is sad.

The majority of the new demand has come from China.

It is common to see the health benefits of avocado touted primarily in the west and as in most cases it comes at the expense of the most poverty stricken among us.

What are your thoughts....
