Since the Steem blockchain became a centralized, top-down dominated place, where control and censorship thrive, I have decided to move my content. Don't worry, though, all my posts and up and doing well on the decentralized Hive blockchain. Come and check it out!

yes, indeed,
first there is respect...
to people, older or younger, black or white, men or women, gay, lesbian or hetero
to nature
to religion
or to the so called "GOD"
But the respect to people can change, especially when you get to know them better, some will be respectable forever, some will lose respect.
Nature and "God" stand above, they never can lose respect, humans can.
Best regards and a nice day

I like that notion: Nature / God stand above, they never can lose respect. Especially if the two constitute the same thing. Very well put.

nice! liked your thorough run down of what we're actually talking about and how it relates to your experience..

es, it’s apparent: this expected respect for our elders has been used as a far reaching tool of social manipulation. It has sent young people to war, into unintended marriages, into pursuing activities that leave them unfulfilled, into feelings of guilt, shame, and despair. These should be reasons enough for questioning whatever our elders tell us.

def agree wit this and like how you concluded it to do whatever the fuck you want, taking into account good advice of course :)

I work almost exclusively with the elderly and they are no less. Love the elderly

I worked with the elderly in a nursing home during my time of the service (in Germany, instead of the military service, there was an optional public service in social institutions). It was nice, in a way, the residents tended to be very grateful, and enjoyed socializing. However, they were people as we all are, and sometimes didn't get along, or just felt like annoying others. Not so nice, but then again, we all feel like that sometimes, including myself. So why not? Let them be humans.

Wow, its great to have someone who has experience spending all their time with the elderly. What do you think about our write up about #RespectElders https://steemit.com/ecotrain/@thegreens/are-you-respecting-your-elders-does-the-saying-you-should-respect-your-elders-still-hold-true-today

Interesting perspective indeed. Age can be many things, a mindset, physical aptitude or many other health related concerns or lack thereof. Take my sis in law who has MS, she’s only in her 40s but she has had to pull back from society which has bestowed upon her that wisdom we associate with some (I won’t even say many) seniors. Another interesting thing to think about is that it takes concerted efforts not to become psycho-rigid. I do think a lot of the hippy boomers were broken by the deep state on many levels; bribery, fear tactics and everything in the middle. The only wisdom that matters to me is one of adaptability and path of least resistance (kind of like Tai Chi).

Age is just a number and we must respect people irrespective of their numbers! What do you think about our write up about #RespectElders https://steemit.com/ecotrain/@thegreens/are-you-respecting-your-elders-does-the-saying-you-should-respect-your-elders-still-hold-true-today

It was great that you highlighted some of the consequences of respect and these happened based on some old myths. Respecting elders have sent young people to wars, early marriages and a lot. I really enjoyed reading your post and this was a great mind opener. Do not forget to read about some other view from @thegreens - https://steemit.com/ecotrain/@thegreens/are-you-respecting-your-elders-does-the-saying-you-should-respect-your-elders-still-hold-true-today

What a great write-up! When the start of a piece is compelling enough, it just becomes a winner for me right there and your starting lines were so nice.

Why we should respect our elders? Because they are people like us, living beings, and entities of this world. Just like youngsters, horses, bears, cacti, or silica. And that alone deserves respect!

Those lines above sum up your entire piece and stand out for me!

Thank you for your beautiful words, @sharoonyasir. Yes, looking back, I agree: these lines sum up my post. The essence is to treat everything and everyone with respect and consideration who or what they are, what they need, what they do, and why. Then all the rest will be so much easier to sort out.
