What a great write-up! When the start of a piece is compelling enough, it just becomes a winner for me right there and your starting lines were so nice.
Why we should respect our elders? Because they are people like us, living beings, and entities of this world. Just like youngsters, horses, bears, cacti, or silica. And that alone deserves respect!
