Diabetes runs in my family including myself, am having a Gestational Diabetes. My Father is dependent to Insulin now to help him control his blood sugar. Personally speaking, it’s hard! But the good thing is that we can control it. It just needed tons of discipline and proper knowledge about Diabetes.

It’s absolutely no fun to suffer gestational Diabetes when your pregnant, When you can’t eat the foods you like or as much as you like.

These are the strategies i used to maintain my ideal weight for pregnancy without Feeling frustrated

  1. Every morning after waking up, I drink a glass of water or pure natural coconut juice.
  2. Followed by a piece of Date and eat my porridge as my main breakfast (I consistently this routine everyday and it works for me)
  3. 15 minutes before my meal i drink water, or eat salad or a piece of fruit or a soup before consuming my main meal, In this way i feel full up and making me eat less especially my carbohydrates.

Great information. My wife is a diabetic and she has been hospitalized too many times for not taking care of herself, including eating right.

I hope she is doing well now. Looking after our diet is important because as they say "you are what you eat".
Best wishes to your family Sir!

Okra, bitter gourd and ashitava are also great to help lower blood sugar. I remember one time I ate bitter gourd fruit and leaves for every meal for a week I think without realizing it that it caused my blood level to go so low such that I fainted because of it lol!

diabetes is an awful disease. The diabetic diet however is good for most anyone to follow! We should all try to lower our insulin levels whenever we can so that our body has a chance to recover from all the harm we put it through. Fantastic informative post as always! x

Thats right, its actually for everyone, our body will benefits it in the long run. Thank you @beautifulbullies.
Best wishes! X

My Mum and her Mum was diabetic
And with my last pregnancy, my sugar levels were high and had to control my diet which means that's a double whammy for me
Precaution is better than cure and every in moderation I say :)

Agree, its hard but it has to be done. A lot of discipline needed, but way much better than sorry.
Thank you for dropping @kaerpediem
