Divali was popping all the way over here in Suriname too. Apparently our landlord's 4 dogs love barking at fireworks, so it wasn't so peaceful and serene. Luckily there were some beautiful moments. It was nice to see the non-Indian Surinamese lighting their candles, cleaning their houses and partaking a little bit.
