Boredom encourages innovation, and it is a powerful force early on in life like you said, my mother taught me at home and I was given freedom like you said. Children learn to live and to become independent and grow up as they are given choices and, haha, yes, they are not Star Wars Storm Clone Troopers and each kid is different in how they learn and in how fast they learn and in when and where they may learn best at.
