VOLUNTEERING & ACTIVISM IN DAILY LIFE VOL 01 - Forest patrolling for fire prevention
¡Hola gente! (translation: Hello people! I am learning Spanish amongst other things and cannot help myself from using them once in a while whenever I get the chance.. 😜)
Ever since I can remember myself, I can recall me trying to find ways to protect & help the environment and encourage others to also find the will and ways to do so. Throughout the years I found myself being really discouraged for both of them, as people around me seemed to really not give a dime about all of this and everything started to seem futile. Some of them even mocked me as a romantic and living in a utopia.
There have been some years through which I have given up on trying to talk about it and to inspire anyone to do anything, but now as blogging and sharing is easier than ever and one will read this as long as they care enough to do so, I have decided to share my thoughts and ways that I have found to help the environment, as well as other people with whatever is within my grasp.
Here's Vol 01, forest patrolling in order to prevent fires during hot and dangerous summer days. I did it with a volunteering organization in my city which has both the expertise and the permission to enter the forest during those days, and I would suggest that whoever wants to do the same in their city/ town/ village finds something similar, as going alone could be dangerous, and potentially both insufficient and prohibited.
The thought that I want to share with you today is:
When you really care for something, there is always a way to be the reason that its destruction will be avoided. Instead of weeping after the disaster, do something before it. There is always something, even a little thing, a little of your time dedicated to the things you claim that you love.
We all see in the news about fires worldwide burning everything down and we are all crying out on our social media and pushing the sad or the angry emoticon reaction. Some of us even curse the people that have probably set the fires (on purpose or out of pure stupidity) and the governments/ authorities/ carriers. Really, is it all that we can do? Is our only power and will to talk and take action about it restricted to pushing buttons on our phones or typing on our computers?
I hope someday we will wake up and start respecting and acting, not just reacting.
In some of my next articles on awareness about more things than ourselves and our own microcosmos, I will try to develop ideas about using less plastic/ packaging, as well as recycling the ones we cannot avoid.
In the meantime, enjoy some photos of the beauty of the forest we went for patrolling during the most dangerous days of August.
I would also really appreciate your own ideas about the subject.
¡Adiós, hasta luego!
In light of the fires blazing without control, this was an especially wonderful post. Relevant, great pictures, informative and motivating.

Thank you very much @artemislives ! If I am able to help or motivate even one single person it is a gain, and I hope that more ideas will start being shared, so that we can do even more for the world and other people! :-)

These two Green Quotes of the week should inspire you to keep doing what you do @christina-madart:

Most often, people have mocked us and said terrible things about the work we do, only to realize later that we were doing the right thing. Keep doing what you are passionate about and we can guarantee you that someday, these same people will hail you like a Queen someday.
Photos of nature never stop to inspire.
Thank you very much @thegreens , the quotes are indeed really inspiring! :-) Also thank you for the kind words, I really hope someday the majority of humanity becomes aware and caring for more things than ourselves, regardless of if I get acknowledgment or not.
Keep up the great work too, I am wishing all the best! :-)
