The Truth About Socialism

in #economics6 years ago (edited)

Socialism in theory may sound "good", it sounds like a system that will give everyone happiness, inclusion and wealth, but in practice something different happens, things don't fall out of the sky, there is nothing free and anything that redistributes wealth is immoral because you would be taking away wealth from someone to give it to someone else, it is theft. Today, we will take a brief look at the harsh truth of socialism.

Being an economic system that "promises" economic and social equality and making public services such as health accessible to all without having to pay, among many other things, it is logical that it is an ideology that has so many followers because it is so seductive, socialism sins of being based on sentimentalism and not on logic, I too would love it if there were no poor people, I would love things to be free, of course, who wouldn't? but the problem is that things do not fall from the sky, life is not a fantasy and there is no such thing as "free".

Someone has to pay, public service requires maintenance, maintenance requires money, who pays for it if it is supposed to be free?, the government, but where does the government get money from?, taxes, the problem is that the government is a terrible investor and always spends more, and the public service offered by the government cannot be compared to a private one, because the private company is much better at managing and has incentives.

When a society wants things for free, two things happen, number one, productivity goes down because there are always two kinds of people, those who work and those who do not work, those who work will lower their productivity because there is no incentive to work hard, because those who do not work would get the same or at least something very similar, And the second thing that happens is that the economy suffers a hard blow because the government has to maintain public services and try to "manage" an economy that was ruined by the decline in productivity, creating a society of mediocre and conformist dependents of a state.

The socialist dream would come to be one very similar to the one we all lived, or at least the vast majority when we were children and our parents supported us, we paid nothing, we had no responsibilities, our parents were in charge of feeding us, clothing us, giving us a roof over our heads to live and sleep, educating us, paying our bills, in other words, they worked for us and we were very dependent on them... Is there any difference with the socialist model? Yes, the difference is that instead of being dependent on our parents, we are dependent on a government that will steal to maintain a "distribution of wealth", the difference is that the citizens who work are going to keep the people who don't work on their taxes, there is a notable difference between keeping a son and keeping a useless person, bear that in mind.

It seeks to instill the thought that being rich is bad and that all wealth is the product of good luck or some kind of "evil" action, this is not true in the vast majority of cases and is an exaggeration created by an ideology of envious people. Many people talk about how businessmen make an absurd amount of money while paying their employees a pittance, but forget that businessmen took a big risk when creating their companies, think about a bet, the more you risk the more you can win, however, if you lose you get nothing, and the house always wins... In this case when creating a company or a business you are investing a very significant amount of money, an amount that could even be millions of dollars, betting that amount and winning represents that you should have a profit in proportion to what you bet, therefore the owners who are the ones who took the risk must earn much more than the employees who do not take the risk. On the other hand, if entrepreneurs lose, logically they will run out of money or without much of it, it is a risk that not everyone can take or would like to take, and the economy always wins, the economy benefits if you succeed in your business and would still benefit if you fail in that business, therefore "The house always wins".

Keep in mind that the entrepreneur does not steal from you, really, it is thanks to the entrepreneur that your work is worth what it is worth, because he provides you with the infrastructure, the environment and the tools to do your work, not to mention, of course, that he does the marketing, manages the company so that everything works properly, pays taxes, pays the maintenance, does the bills, among other things. It can't be a robbery, it would be stupid to say that it is a robbery, not only because of everything I said before, but also because it turns out that you signed a contract, that is, the amount you are going to be paid was accepted voluntarily.

Rich people don't get rich by robbing other people, rich people get rich by making other people make more money, the economy loves it when this happens, because the only way humanity has discovered to fight poverty is called economic growth, thanks to Capitalism the world went from having 95% of poverty being 1 billion inhabitants to having less than 10%, having more than 7 billion inhabitants and taking into account Africa and South America.

Socialism has only worked by force and with the help of an authoritarian government, if socialism were voluntary it would not be called socialism, it would be called charity, being a single sustainable model with strength makes it perfect for authoritarian governments to gain much power and constantly increase it. History has shown us over and over again the disasters of socialism and communism, that we remember socialism as the stage before communism, history has shown us what happens when you try to "control" and "regulate" the economy, it has shown us what happens when you create hatred and resentment towards the rich, I will tell you something, the rich are the ones who generate the most wealth in society and therefore the ones who bring the most benefit to it. The government is only concerned with stealing and playing "Robin Hood" by distributing misery and poverty equitably.

The times of being children where our parents gave us everything are over, if we want a better economy and a better world we have to work, if we want to eliminate poverty, then we have to improve the economy, we have to stop fantasizing and accept the sad reality of Marxist ideals, they do not work, socially, economically or culturally, we have to embrace meritocracy and accept that the only people who can regulate the economy are the consumers... Not a bunch of inepts who call themselves the government and who some praise as Masters. Thanks for reading, peace.
