What is Quality?
Throughout my day I watch DTube videos. I don't always comment. It depends on many factors if I do or not. Today I saw three video's that really bothered me. The videos were very different but in the end, the message was a bit disturbing to me.
In the video above are my thoughts from today. Part of this video will answer how I feel about one of @josediccus DtubesnapQ's. The other part of this video came about from watching two videos by @sergiomendes today.

Hey, @snook, I agree pretty much across the board.
A big part of Steemit's appeal to me is the wide variety of people and voices found here, and their ability to sometimes go out on a limb without danger of being shut down.
Sometimes it works for me and sometimes it doesn't, speaking as a member of their audience, but I applaud their creativity and their courage to put themselves out there, all the same.
Any outside imposition of "rules" impedes that, aside from the mandate that content be original and not plagiarized, with which I agree. The creative process requires freedom of expression to thrive, and to allow for the most originality to result.
And that originality and creative courage is why I followed you early on, and have always valued your voice. You are one of a kind, and you're wise enough to embrace that - and you're frequently hilarious!
Like you, I'm an odd duck not easily categorized, I jump around in subject matter all the time, and arbitrarily imposed rules are likely only to make me go elsewhere.
I cherish the fact that I have found here an audience that is willing to engage, encouraging me to take more risks, and even when there are disagreements, usually handles them respectfully.
That's golden to me.
And I almost never wear makeup, both because I used to have to years ago, and because I'm much more interested in actually doing things than in standing in front of a mirror for XX number of minutes every day.
I'm pretty sure my animals don't care. ;-)

You are right. Quality is not only about camera and gadgets we use. It's more about the value the video bring. If the video bring any kind of value, it's quality. If people are trying to do something useful is quality. If they stick together, work as a team. When people care about the platform and not only about themselves. People who love us or like us, they always watch our videos, nomatter how the quality is. You are smart, you are useful, you are interesting, so your videos are high quality. I hope people will understand that the quality is not only about what we see, but also about what it's all about. It's a social network after all, and the most importnat here is connections. ☺

It totally agree. When I talk about quality content, I am talking about not doing plagiarism, not just putting up a photo (tell us just a bit of information about it), and not intentionally put a wrong tag on just to get more views. Other than that, quality is in the eye of the doer. There is some responsibility each creator has to make sure that there are a few "rules of decency" followed, but that, I think, is common sense.
This was a hard topic and I applaud you for saying something.

Quality is so subjective too. Through a photographic eye, a few pictures of a difficult shot with a brief description would be considered high quality whereas some people think it has to be formatted a certain way with a minimum of X words. I think quality rests mostly in the care put into a post. You're good at that. Much love sis.

Well very splendid video, I'm always actually thinking ahead of the ecosystem I don't think we always have to collect the rewards and not bother about the long run, the truth is that this questions I asked were well adressed in your video I share your sentiments about what quality truly means really and this is definitely one of the best videos I've seen in a long time, what quality.
In your video's you are in the same place BUT what YOU say always has deep meaning. You ask good questions. You know what you are talking about and if you are unsure you ask.......YOU are always learning which is really what we all need to do.

Hummm okay I see. But that change it is not related with quality, or being part of a group or even because that I think I should be getting more rewards. Or that I want to start things like other people do. That's why I didn't get why I was tagged? Lol but I don't mind.
I just wanted "a fresh start" since I have been uploading on Dtube every day for 1 year.
I decided it was a good time for a change to keep everyone that watch my videos entertained and not bored to death.
I needed myself a boost as a creator to keep things coming and not just let me get deep in "work" and creating without any creativity. 😉
But it is all good no worries. I just wanted to understand where did it came from since I couldn't see the relation ehehhe 😊

yeah, of course everything is subjective and relative. but then ... there are certain kind of universal or commonly agreeable standards or criteria...
yet it still depends on - what this word "quality" is applied to.
good question!! and comment. Content for a person can be anything and everything. It depends on your day and mindset.
some days good content just needs to make me laugh. somedays I want to learn something.

especially in modern times of mostly "digital content". therefore perhaps it greatly depends on one's Perception.
although when it comes to "Price" - it is already entirely another "dimension" to both "Content" and its "Quality". (I've further elaborated on that here)
quality content is not and never has been about everyone doing things the same way or the topics. It is about how well organized and presented the content creator makes that content. It needs to capture and engage the consumer's attention in a way that has value to the consumer.

we are all different, learn differently, see things differently and find humor in different forms. As long as people feel they have the freedom to express themselves how they want I don't have a problem.
If I made 25 video's and no one watched any......yes, I would change what/how I was doing it or realize what I am doing just isn't a good fit for me..

People can and do express themselves in different ways... that is up to them.
It is up to the potential consumer of that content to decide if it is quality, mediocre or just plain crap.
If the creator is unable or unwilling to create what will appeal to their target audience, then any frustration over lack of traction is their own creation. It has nothing to do with misconceptions on the consumer’s part.
You either create cause your happy with being your own consumer if need be OR you create because you’d like an audience to enjoy your creation. If the latter, you have to create so the consumer will seek out your content.

The if 'need be' is the unknown. It is also something each person takes whenever they write/create anything. Will people like it? Do they really like it? are they just being nice?
If you don't try things that might not always conform you grow stagnant, I think. Yet to some, like S.King, live off of old hard work......the list that lives off of hard work, in the beginning, is long.....
Is a person with a chewbacca mask on laughing her ass off quality? Not really but the content make millions of poeple happy. Now what she does after her 15 minutes of fame is a whole other story. The chewbacca Lady will never be the next Zillionair but she is happy bringing laughter and what she believes in to those that still follow her for her spirit and energy.
I think she wrote a book too......I'm very sure she then has a team of editors rewrite it.
But she made a name for herself being her and bringing joy to millions sitting in a car in a parking lot laughing her ass off.....Quality? No. content? some would say no......but it doesn't matter.........
Could someone perdict that? no way....... but she gave the world something it needed at the time.

I absolutely agree Snook. I love the variety of the things I can find on Steemit and none of us should have to conform to fit in somewhere. It reminds me of the cliques we had in school, and while others would flock to their own groups I would go to the library and read because I didnt fit in with any of those groups. Our diversity is what makes this a special place. 🖤
