RE: 5xSNAP? First Dtube Vlog - Failed Miserably - Anyway, NO MORE EXCUSES not to start posting on Dtube!
Oh, the russian accent, yes. I feel like people do understand us though. Or at least give us an extra point for trying, when they realize we are speaking like drunk russians :D
Speaking isn't as big of an issue as my fucked up memory is. Staying on point is hard. Flying away to something unrelated and not being able to come back. Sticking to the point. That's an issue I'll have to deal with first.
Completely agree with you on that! Our voice, and the way we pronounce words can be very powerful tool if we use it correctly.
@theycallmedan said something very meaningful about this
Always stick your tongue to the roof of your mouth when ever you can. The tongue sends an electric charge to our brain that activate trillions of dormant brain cells.
I've tried it out and can tell you that the difference can be felt. My words feel more impactful when I consciously try to do that. Give it a shot!
Thanks for the valuable tips bro!
✌️
Yeah, that does sound like a valuable tip.
Thank, I learned something new :) that's always appreciated
About the part Where you can't stay on track. It happens cause you are not effective in English thinking as well as thinking in your native language
How I usually solve that:
mindfulness -> trying to be aware of what I'm speaking, focused on my breathing constantly as it plays a huge role
slow-down -> If you feel like its just to hard to keep up, by all means slow down - and this won't impact you negatively, actually it will help you to develop your story telling even more & have more impact
yoga -> I guess you didn't see this 1 coming :D but after a great session of yoga you are much more connected to yourself and therefore can engage with English better - it will as well help you to breathe deeper & therefore be able to slow down easier
have a small piece of paper (really small); where you have all the crucial points you want to cover throughout the video. As you are recording, make sure to give it a peek here and there
By the way if you are interested in trying yoga out, feel free to DM me and I'll tell you where you can join me.
Peace
Thanks for the tips!
I'll definitely try to implement them one by one to see which boosts my communication skills the best.
Slowing down might be the crucial one of them all. I feel like my mid is constantly racing and I just can't put my foot on the ball and chill out.
But, practice, practice and more practice is what I need the most.
