Dtube Snap // My First Experience At A Self Serve Bar
Hi Friends!
It is one of my best friend's birthday's today and so to kick off the celebrations, we stopped by a new bar in town. Have you guys ever seen a self serve bar? I certainly hadn't and was super curious to check it out. It's honestly a pretty brilliant business model.
They don't serve food (there is a pizza spot next door that delivers and they bring in food trucks) - but they are pretty busy and only need to staff 1-2 people to run the entire place.
How does it work?
Basically you check in with them when you first get there to show your ID and they give you a wristband. They have two walls full of beer, cider and wine options you can choose from. There is a display screen above each one with tons of information including the name, type, ABV, price per ounce, and photo of the bottle.
They keep it all pretty safe because it will only let you pour one serving size at a time - and then after you've reached a certain amount of ounces (tracked by the wristband), then you need to check back in with the employee so they can activate more for you.
Buying drinks for friends is super easy too. You just walk up with them and waive your wristband to pay for their drink.
Overall, I thought this was a super interesting idea and they did a great job of crafting a cool vibe in the place. I'm sure it was expensive to build the place out - but now they have a low overhead, high margin business.

Is the beer cheaper than on other bars or Same price?

It was pretty reasonably priced actually! I would say that it was a little cheaper. You also don't need to tip as much because no one is waiting on you - so that can save a considerable amount of money. At least in the States where we have a big tipping culture.

Robots will take away the jobs humans hate to do.
We're creating new jobs that more suitable for humans that makes them work because them love that kind of work.
Also STEEMing is one of the future jobs that will replace many jobs......

Oh we got there super early right when they opened. It was totally packed by the time we left. :)
