I've never used the SJ Cam so I really can't comment on it's sound. My main camera is usually the Panasonic Lumix GH5 with a Rode Video Mic Pro + and the GoPro Hero 6 I use for more portable things like biking, boating, etc.
Thanks for your answer! Now I am looking for new action camera and try to choose best one.
I will say that for all the negative press the Hero 6 has received, I've been pretty impressed myself. It seems the firmware the released fixed a lot of issues, and the image stabilization has seriously just blown me away at how well it does. It's by no means perfect, but I'm overall happy with the purchase.
