MUSIC An Evening With My Dad

in #dtubedaily6 years ago

I spent some time with my dad this weekend talking about music and listening to him perform. I'm hoping to create a longer film to learn as much about my dad as possible. It seems to my that video is the modern day photo album

During my visit my dad played Travis Tritt's Foolish Pride, Steve Earle's No. 29, and Matchbox Twenty's Back 2 Good. I included some portions of each in the video.

Wow, really nice post, it feels like a ballad itself. Has a story and the whole video is just fluent. Best thing to jam with the pops! And he has some skills brother.!

@artakush I'm glad the video came together nicely. I put a lot of effort in this one. A lot of the car conversations I recorded had sound issues and didn't make the cut but I used what I thought was needed to tell the story a bit. I will be recording some more from him and posting here or on DLive. Not sure yet which so I am going to test the waters in both to see where they fit better. Thanks for checking out the video.

Dude. I loved where you see the road and you narrate during the drive. And your intro from.previous videoa... just brilliant. It feels like I am watching a series or something. You really make it entertaining and smooth. More of Ze Jamz! More of @to7!!!!

Artakush waits for the next Ti Model series in the bush...

Tim this is brilliant!

Your dad is extremely talented!! As someone who has been known to play a few songs on the guitar I really appreciated this!
Yes, the 70's was the best decade for music !!

Thanks @scolari-ire . I'm glad you liked it. He is an amazing and fascinating guy and I am proud that he is my father.

He looks like a great guy and I can now see where you get the talent from

Any chance your dad is on dsounds? :D :D :D

Not yet but I'm working on it.

cooooool totally let me know ;)

Man, this is gold Tim. I would dearly love to have done something like this with my dad. He died in 2009 and that was when I brought back the shoebox of photos, not only of his, but of his mother's and my maternal grandparents' too. I scanned them all and started putting together a timeline and it was sad that I wasn't able to ask him questions and listen to him talk about those pictures. Keep working on it now while you can, as this stuff really is important. Of course my kids are going to have so much data to sift through that they won't know where to begin, but getting stories about people's lives is such a worthwhile and rewarding project. I did get to talk to my mum and her brother about a lot of photos, but there were a lot that neither of them could help me with.

Thank you @camuel for watching and the comment. With so much going on sometimes things are difficult. I'm hoping to capture a lot more moments and I think I enjoy documenting things like this. I'm sorry to hear about your loss but also I'm glad to hear that your children are going to have plenty of moments of you to sift through.

Man your Pops is going to be a star on here bro.

Awsome your MUSIC An Evening With My Dad
