Well, considering the enourmous place the US is, It isn't so weird. There are many open places and deserts. Where do you think Russia tested their nuclear bombs? I am actually happier they do it on their own abandoned soil than fucking up some islands in the pacific/atlantic
I wish that I could say that the US is that considerate. They used to test nukes in the Pacific Ocean as a part of Project Fish Bowl in the 60s or 70s. They stopped because the radiation was affecting some of the Pacific Islanders.
