The Reasons For Both SMTs And Steem Engine Tokens
There seems to be a lot of confusion as to the difference between SMTs and Steem-Engine Tokens. In this video, I try to clarify things a bit.
It is imperative to understand that these do not compete with each other. Instead, they are complimentary advancements. Which is used will depend upon the project.
There is some speculation in this since we do not know what SMTs will look like exactly. Hence, reason #1 for SE Tokens: SMTs do not exist at this point.

I'm one of those people who have trobule grasping what would be the difference between SMT and Steem-engine.
From my understanding, right now in order to buy any token created via steem-engine I need to buy STEEM first. Which makes it so much more complicated. Plus those tokens cannot be traded on other exchanges.
At the same time SMT will allow to create token on steem blockchain, that would be available without getting into STEEM in the first place. Is that correct?
Im sharing worries that SMT will bring down current Steem-engine tokens (like PAL, LEO etc).

Piotr
