PROMOTING DTUBE, PALNET AND STEEMIT TO MY 67K YOUTUBE SUBS!

in #dtube5 years ago (edited)

This is the brand new video for my YouTube channel with almost 70k Subscribers and I have decided to promote @dtube https://www.palnet.io and good old @steemit in this video! In this video I talk about how and why the content of the channel called ‘Travelling Weasels’ has changed and why it actually changed quite a while ago. The reason is not just the end of the relationship with my ex-fiancé @lauracody, check out the video I made about that here:

The reason is also some insane algorithm changes YouTube has done as far back as 2017! I talk about that in great detail in the video! If the DTube version doesn't work check out the YouTube version here: https://youtu.be/qY2z6WKo97I

Here’s the article I mention in the video about YouTubes algorithm changes: https://www.tubefilter.com/2017/06/22/youtube-algorithm-research-cracking-the-code/

and here’s the video I mention:

Here’s the documentary I mention later on:

You an all of your followers are welcome!

I hope you mentioned how any community could create their own token with a site like palnet, that can be traded against Steem on an exchange, instantly upon its creation. And how in future, the site could have forums, social media and video platform like dtube as a all in one package (tribes).

If I would have mentioned that my audience would have not understood a thing, I doubt most of them even know what Bitcoin is, the key is to always know your audience and introduce new concepts in a way that makes it appealing to them rather than just randomly stating features of whatever it is you're trying to promote

Yes, I was speaking to you, not to your audience in my comment. Of course, for marketing, technical terms wouldn't be used and the idea would be conveyed in terms that the public understand, using a simple example of what's possible. I thought that would be obvious without saying.

But it's a good lesson for others who wish to promote crypto to average internet users, avoid technical terms and lay out using an example case, what the user could benefit from adopting the technology being promoted.

so hopefully the perks of Palnet interface grows full of some good manual curators on here. Either that or its back to shitbooks lame scroll feeds for click bait.

I'm sure the mods are trying their best to distribute stake around where they see promise, but there's not many of them and time is limited

d.tube never store videos permanently ...

For permanent video storage go to https://oneloveipfs.com

In all this time (on steemit) since dtube first came out, I have NEVER been able to
get connected there. Something about delegating "ftps" which I don't understand,
But when I tried following step by step, it just didn't work. THIS pc is an older one
Not a lot of RAM left that isn't being used. (Does that have anything to do with it?
There are SO MANY instances where I have a video of something short, funny, odd
Etc, where I just don't want to upload to YT, but would much rather go straight
Here to the blockchain.
When I CREATE a video, it is usually one of my live music performances (I play
Old music for Old people in Retirement and assisted living facilities) I use software
I've bought that allows me to format (.MOV, .MP3 .GIF and more) add titles and
on-screen subtitles etc... that's a lot of work (for me) to create something meant
FOR THE BLOCKCHAIN audience, but I must go to YT first.
I can't tell you how many emails I've gotten from Google "It appears that the song
In blah blah blah is owned by blah blah blah" I DON'T Care, I make it plain that
I don't own the rights to that F Sinatra song, and I've never made a ¢ from any of
My videos. It is just crazy.
But when they want to put ads on my video so THEY can make $ when I am
NOT making $, just doesn't seem fair to me.
There, I've vented. I was puzzled and confused by your initial video @tanbay,
But I'm glad I caught it. Maybe I'll see ya round.

Not only is it totally unfair that they make money from it, Google/YouTube also make a TON of money from your data that they are selling to advertisers! DTube is surely not perfect but things are improving and soon uploading should get way easier. There is also a new video platform called 3speak which will be open to everyone soon and it should be no problem to upload content on there (:

Perhaps you can help me understand something about dtube. If I delegate
Whatever that is, it is a partition on my harddrive, right? Whether that
Is true or not, some part of my pc is actively connected to the platform
Doing something I can't see. So if I post/upload a video to Dtube
Were I to figure out this delegation thing, when I turn OFF my
PC as I do when I'm not using it, do my videos disappear
Until I turn my PC back on? I actually have 3, 2 desktops and
A laptop. I still shut them down (or hibernate in the case
of my laptop) when they are not in use. I suspect my
AV would not be happy with me delegating space
On my computer to some outside entity.
Can you help me understand this please?
Thanks in advance @tanbay

Dtube is quite simple, read this post and you will understand how it works: https://steemit.com/utopian-io/@akhileshwari/understanding-dtube-easily

I'll look at it, but as I said, I've read posts, I've watched YT videos that are "supposed" to be step by step, and I quit messing with it when over and
Over I kept reaching the point where the last step/instruction said I
Should be seeing ### blah blah blah, yet I saw nothing that looked
Anything like XXX blah blah blah. Thanks @tanbay

Okay, things must have changed because I didn't see anything about
Delegating FTPS . I'm pretty sure I created an account. Let me see
If I can find it.
Thanks again

The trouble with most of these 'step by step' tutorials is that they are out of date and things do indeed change all the time on DTube and most other apps on the steem blockchain, so yes, try again and see if it is working now

I tagged you in this , thanks

I just recently found out that initially the colour pink was for boys and blue for girls
And then Avon comes up with a massive campaign that made pink girly and here we are today with it not only reversed but boys actually hating pink
That marketing campaign really did its job... :)

Enjoyed watching this @tanbay

You should check out the campaign that was made to make women smoke :P https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torches_of_Freedom But the pink thing is kind of starting to reverse, depending on the location. I, myself, have a pink shirt and I've seen guys wear pink in certain countries but it does depend on the trend as well

Torches of Freedom
"Torches of Freedom" was a phrase used to encourage women's smoking by exploiting women's aspirations for a better life during the early twentieth century first-wave feminism in the United States. Cigarettes were described as symbols of emancipation and equality with men. The term was first used by psychoanalyst A. A. Brill when describing the natural desire for women to smoke and was used by Edward Bernays to encourage women to smoke in public despite social taboos. Bernays hired women to march while smoking their "torches of freedom" in the Easter Sunday Parade of 1929, which was a significant moment for fighting social barriers for women smokers.

How many new steemians have you onboarded thru your show?

Hell yes, @tanbay. After much encouragement from Julia and watching @exyle 's video I totally took the plunge and am so enjoying the altruistic early-steemit vibes. It's also incredibly easier to discover worthwhile content ... testament to the fact I just effortlessly found your video. = )

Gonna start pushing PALnet super hard on the creatives at @dsound too. Really think post-fork it will be the best way to make the kinda organic music and video content that I -enjoy- curating wayyyy more visible.

Yes I totally agree this is like the early days of Steemit but this time we actually have something to compare this to and we hopefully won't make the same mistakes again! I even went as far as saying PAL will outperform steem in my video here: https://www.palnet.io/dtube/@tanbay/41xvqr4x I'm not even sure that's technically possible but if Palnet keeps improving the way they do we will soon find out! Thanks for your support anyways!

Hell yes. Perfect example I've seen your account and posts for ages but Palnet brought you to the foreground as a forward-thinking, like minded Steemian. I am -all about- being able to focus on a smaller pool of users who are almost universally all the creatives I know from the platform already. When I saw julia, crimson, exyle, you .... onboard ... it's just like ... ah right. Wish I had realized earlier the positive effect using palnet.io would have on my curating. SO MUCH LESS SPAM.

I see no reason why PAL, which is currently -vastly- more difficult to obtain in bulk, won't hit 1:1 with steem, especially once people's reward's get devastated and they start looking for other ways to monetize. Once they realize they are also joining a WAY less spammy and more altruistic community, I don't see people unstaking enmasse.

It really is way less spammy and best of all they seem to not want bots which is (in my opinion) the thing that brought steemit (not steem) down so hopefully that won't happen here on palnet!

MAXIMUM AGREE.

All Steem needs is an exposure vehicle that is not bot-centric to get its positive mojo back (and this is from somebody who has unabashedly used bots to move content I work my ass off on into a visible position) .... It makes a ridiculous amount of sense to ban all bot activity from PAL so it remains a distinctive ecosystem from Steemit.com.

Promotion of anything Steem related is always good! Thanks! Did you notice people moving to any of the Steem-platforms because of your work on youtube?

Hi Michel and thanks for watching my video! I just uploaded this yesterday so it's too early to tell if people will sign up but I think I will use SteemNinja to track possible referrals and also so I can help them answer any questions because things can be confusing on here at first :P

Yes! I remember the first weeks on Steemit. What was all that stuff about :P

Would be great if you'll write an update post about that, in case there is anything significant happening...

Great ... thank you for the information @tanbay
