RE: Which Ones Of These Steemy Ads Do You Want To See Go Viral? 💙 You Can Now Vote For Your Favorite "60 Seconds of Steem"!

in #dtube5 years ago (edited)

Hi @true-opinion! Happy to meet you :-)
First of all thanks for your appreciation, I'm glad you like the contest.

Second, you're mixing up a couple of things here. Let me clarify that:

The voting on the entries is stake weighted just as it has been announced from the very beginning (3 weeks ago):

The voting will be stake-weighted and end after 7 days on the 15th of February. - Source

I haven't received any complaints in that context so far, so there is no reason to change the rules of the game now that we're almost passing the finish line. During three weeks everybody seemed to be cool with the procedure.

@Oracle-D is one of the generous sponsors who make this contest possible. They have promised to upvote the winners of the contest, and that's what they're going to do. Since the contest is running two weeks and payouts for posts end after 7 days according to the Steem algorithm, we've agreed on encouraging the winners to set up a celebration post after the award ceremony, and then the sponsors can allocate the promised votes accordingly.

Besides being a generous sponsor, @oracle-d is also a stakeholder of Steem, just like all of us. So there is no reason why they should be excluded from the voting. At no point in time there were any restrictions communicated, everybody is free to vote for the entries they like.

The only thing I'm worried about is that not many other larger stakeholders have placed more votes during the contest so far, but believe me I'm doing my best to encourage them all to participate.

I appreciate your suggestions, but you're asking me to exclude larger stakeholders from the voting just because they have a large stake - and that to me doesn't make sense at all.

This is a DPOS world. One account / one vote is something that may be considered with SMTs and Oracles in the future (see SMT whitepaper), but currently voting on Steem is stake weighted and so it has been announced for this contest three weeks ago.

Again, thanks for your feedback & have a nice day! :-)
