Trip to Cebu

The best things about our province of Cebu is that it has so many unique natural wonders. each municipality has its own set of special attractions, and many more are being discovered.

Another perfect place to visit in Cebu is the Tumalog Falls in Oslob, 1 hour drive from our house, approximately 170 kilometers from Cebu City. It got a lot of attention after it became a second destination trip for those people who are there to see the whale shark in Oslob.

Going to Tumalog falls is a 1 hour drive from our house using a van. Along the way is driving in a well developed road where you can see the ocean on your left side and a towering slope of mountain on the right side. When we reach the place, it is accessible from the main road, turning right to a service road and driving up approximately 15 minutes drive up to a sloped road towards the mountain to reach an open space on top to park your vehicle, then walking down a stiff narrow road or you can rent a motor cycle leading you to the falls. While descending down, you can already see Tumalog Falls, it is huge! You can feel its magnificent view even from a distance.

As the road comes to an end, a series of streams that allow the excess water from the waterfalls’ main basin to flow away. Above it is a wooden restaurant. It’s good that they were built few yards away from the waterfall. After rounding a bit, we came to a moisture-laden trail like entrance and "Behold" the beauty of the water curtain of the Tumalog Falls.

It is simply well orchestrated melody of nature. Because of the extra ordinary rock formation, small amount of water are flowing down causing it to sprinkle down the water beneath. The water beneath is shalow but very cold. The forest cover is so massive that it covers an entire cliff, yet the cool, clear water falling from the cliff comes like curtains shower. Cebu is a paradise of multiple asset, no wonder why so many visitors, local and foreign, fall in love with it.
