For a while steem blockchain was at first place on blocktivity, beating all other blockchain including bitcoin blockchain, ethereum blockchain and litecoin.
unlike coinmarketcap.com that arranges cryptocurrency according to their market capitalization, blocktivity arranges blockchain according to how many transactions each blockchain handles.
I personally don't think ethereum will maintain that first place for long because when smart media token launches by 2018, the number of transactions on the steem blockchain could grow by 10x, together with its price.
