How does @dtube collect the 25% author rewards?

in #dtube6 years ago (edited)

My presumption was Dtube collects 25% of the rewards for a video uploaded to @dtube. Is this correct? Or does dtube take 25% of all the author's rewards including posts without a video? I've tried to find additional information by reading @heimindanger introduction post to dtube but I couldn't find an answer. It may seem like a stupid question but there is some resistance to joining Dtube because of this misconception or reality (evidence seen in the comments of this article ).

A big problem with the current alternate platforms built on Steem is transparency as far as what cut they take for the privelege of using their platform.

It seems that the @steemitblog run by the steemit organization promotes third-party applications which includes Dtube as seen in this recent article. I'm simply interested how they collect the 25% and what 25% they collect from. If this is cleared up more people would be enticed to join Dtube.

Yes, they only take the 25% from DTube videos (ones specifically uploaded to DTube. And it's 25% of each individual video, collected seven days after posting at the same time as your author rewards are distributed.

That's what I thought but it wasn't totally clear.
