In my opinion ICE owning 23 exchanges must provide great exposure for Bakkt and cryptocurrencies in general but I can't escape the wobbly feeling that occurs given the fact that private keys must be entrusted to the exchange. I can see how that might be more convenient for larger institutions but I personally could never see myself going for that.
Not to mention the fact that only being a trader and converter of Bitcoin means that Starbucks, in my humble opinion, haven't understood or grasped the spirit of Bitcoin as evidenced by the fact that I can't even buy my coffee with Bitcoin (not that I would, of course) and I'm not holding my breath for their 2019 projection of that happening, besides, it's hard to drink your coffee whilst holding your breath. Anyhooo Costa for the win heehee.
I know XRP can be a love or hate thing but full disclosure, I like the tech and the people behind it and have been a hodler and trader of XRP for quite a while.
I can't help but wonder if some of the information concerning the Bakkt release was ever spoken with sincere intentions in the first place.
Based on all the back and forth I've heard throughout the year, it's really starting to sound a lot like the little boy who cried wolf.
Maybe they should consider not speaking until they have something legitimate to say.

I prefer projects like Bakkt to be delayed instead of launching unprepared. Although it seems to be more regulatory related, I think it will be well worth the wait given the value they can potential add to the crypto economy in terms of adoption.

Honestly, not worried about the delays. This tells me they are serious about making sure to get things right. There are plenty of big time backers who are ready to take the dive. They just want to get all their ducks in a row.
Hi, Happy 2019, thanks for the great infos, did you see great recommendation from Mike Maloney, obviously well deserved ... ; I dont think xrp bribe but anyway they got lots of free Marketing (bad or good as long people talk about it it seems relevant, besides it is not crypto IMHO); as soon as I have LN-btc wallet I will help test that; I did try once to use mobile app Eclair Wallet but was not able to open a channel (could you please perhaps have a look at Android Eclair Wallet?!) , bye see ya ;)
I just think the manner in which Bakkt raised the money and the PR blast they put out really put pressure on them to deliver now and perhaps they should have saved the announcement for a little later. I'm pretty keen to see what they do once they get going the current market is as good as any to get in it being flat gives them the ability to plan and spread their investment over the reasonable amount of operating months without having to generate a profit from the get go!
Does anyone know what the uptake of the lightning network is and how its improved transaction times?
Great show as always!! Really interested to see how the whole Bakkt piece plays out!!! I see it as being positive for the ecosystem but you never quite know!!
