I just tried to login to your site. Steemconnect asks for at least my active key! That's horrible. When you only ask posting permission. I wonder whether the app is badly configured at steemconnect.
Thanks for your feedback @leprechaun. I think there are a lot of misconceptions around SteemConnect.
Utopian does not hold or even see your credentials, ever.
There is no way (at the moment at least) to change this setting in SteemConnect V2
Even if it was possible to only ask for the posting key, Utopian would still require at least your active key since it will offer Power Delegation. Through delegating power to Utopian, contributors will access higher rewards.
SteemConnect V2 is managed by Steemit itself and acts as an auth service. That means Utopian only knows if you are logged in or not and who you are. Every action is broadcasted through SteemConnect V2. Utopian will never be able to initiate a transfer without your authorization via SteemConnect V2.
SteemConnect V2 is still in its early stages. Maybe we will see some more options in the future. At the moment the only way and the safest is to connect via SteemConnect V2. Without this, no external apps would be possible and the Steem ecosystem will just not grow.

You don't have to take the word of @elear . This is explained here https://v2.steemconnect.com . It's a matter of trusting SteemConnect, really. I never saw a post by @ned saying Steemit Inc. bought SteemConnect.
@leprechaun that's a pity and in fact I have just asked to @ekitcho to make the process very clear, write posts about it and maybe also @ned could say a word. You can also check by yourself already. SteemConnect V2 is under the Steemit official Github account (https://github.com/steemit/steemconnect) = managed by Steem.
Does that make @sanjeevm comdortable with using SteemConnect? I think using SteemConnect is defintely better than people pasting keys everywhere.
