Mercy And Her Kits - Day 11

Today is the 11th day in the life of Mercy’s kits, two of the very gallant ones kept crawling out of the nest box to get suck some more from Mama and this can distort the feeding plan for other kits that a not yet able to crawl out.

Also, there eyes are open now (all the kits) so they can now tell where their mother is and try to chase after her. Their furs are better covered now compare to the last video where they were still a bit bear. Rabbit babies are born blind, furless and only rely on the smell of their mother and touch to locate where she is.

They feed only on their mother’s milk for food in the first three weeks or there about before they start nibbling on food. I normally give them potato leaves, yam peel, potato peels and a combination of grinded grains.

The kits cuddle together to keep because their mother doesn’t do cuddling. Cuddling also helps their fur grow faster too. When they’re not feeding or cuddled together sleeping, they usual like sniffing around to learn about their environment.

I hope to keep do more videos as they pass through direct stages in life.
