Both the Post and the NYT are straining to save face for two years of promoting this false narrative that blew up in their face. Like anyone whose religion is shown to have holes in it, they feel the need to "fill in the blanks" and speculate as they go along in order not to admit their colossal error.
Too true. But don't forget they also need to fabricate things so that they can say they were right even though the report says they weren't. Got to keep the dumbed down Left worshiping at the Trump is evil alter after all.
