Vlog #111: If you had $1000 dollar to spend freely which crypto would you buy?
I feel very fortunate when it comes to discovering crypto.
I learned about it in 2013 and bought my first Bitcoins for around $250 each.
One BTC is worth $5660 today.
If I had to get into crypto today I would be in trouble. I simply don't have that money. And who does?
I mean seriously. Wich person can just drop $5k into BTC under normal circumstances and do it with confidence at this all-time high.
Or Ethereum for that matter.
I bought my first Ether for $2.
It's now well over $300 and that is only based on a future potential as far as I can tell. (What can I do on the Ethereum blockchain today that is useful?)
I bought my first STEEM for around $4 and it's now $1. Mmmm.....
Luckily I kept buying all the way to 7 cents. So I turned a bad buy into a good buy.
All this got me thinking about a fun question:
If you had $1000 dollar to spend freely wich crypto would you buy?
I'm looking forward to the comments!

I am late to the contest but a $1000 now in crypto can buy a little. you have to be smart and active to see where to invest.
The lending platforms are crazy and scammy but they are paying.
The issue is the market is moving up and down so fast.
Now BTC is a good buy at least you will get something back in return.
To be safe and sound , steem with hope will go up and earn by posting.
You did great getting Bitcoin at $250.
I had my first one gifted to me when it was Worth $2.00. That same person gave ten to someone as a wedding gift when they were worth $50.00. Since the groom showed no interest in them He bought them all back from him $900.00 or $90.00 each!
In five years $5,000 might sound like peanuts for one Bitcoin!
If I had $1,000 to play with I'd buy EOS
$2 BTC wow, nice gift! I hope you kept it.
Actually I turned it into Protoshares which gave me about 250,000 Bitshares.
Man I really don't know. If you read about every crypto, you almost always read positive things about every single one of them. I was looking at XRP because that one is cheap to buy but then again, no one knows the potential value for lets say the coming 5 to ten years
Lot's of projects out there indeed. But no way of telling wich will make it. Looking at functionality I'm sticking with steem.
Great question. $1000 right now I would invest in $500 in Steem and $500 in SBDs. As of the time I'm writing this SBDs are 0.95 cents, so you have an immediate minimum 5% gain built in right up front. I believe Steem is tremendously undervalued right now at $1.02, but can see this current price trend continuing for the near future. It seems to have a floor around 0.95-$1.00 where the whales stop powering down. When the SBDs to Steem ratio would become very favorable, I would then sell the SBDs and convert to Steem to get some extra Steem. Steem is what I know the best and one thing I've learned over the years is to invest in what you know.
Great vlog brother and have a great day!!
That's good advice!
With $1000 today @exyle I would buy LTC but only on a Down Day in Price. What I have been doing is building my LTC and then on a day that it is UP in Price and STEEM is down in price then I send it over to buy more STEEM.............That's just me and the way I like to do it.
If that works for you that's great. I'm enjoying reading all the different insights!
I will buy bnt! Never so bullish on a coin as with BNT$ Bancor. Over 15 ICO's have announced they will use Bancor as reserve to provide liquidity.
Does Bancor have an active use case right now?
EOS i have great faith it will be a winner
BitShares will be using EOS for it's backend and thus almost a guaranteed increase in value as soon as it goes live.
I have made a big mistake buying EOS for more than $1.70 each...
Just buy some more now while cheap and even it out..i have no doubt they will be worth alot more once the platform is up and running...its long term
I agree, but the fact they keep distributing the same amount for coming year(s) makes me feel the price will go even lower. Maybe the perfect buying opportunity has yet to present itself...
What do you feel is a reasonable price to get in at?
I think around the 1 dollar is acceptable and right now at 60 cents is a bargain.. but your right it could go right down to cents down the track..i am just buying small amounts every week throuought the year long sale and hoping it all evens out...just my strategy
Always nice to hear diffrent perspectives! Thanks for sharing your view!
may i ask what makes you think it will be a winner? i dont know much about EOS
Here is a post i made on EOS a few months ago :).
https://steemit.com/eos/@wakeupworldnews/why-i-am-going-all-in-on-eos-and-past-crypro-ventures-2017726t9951351z
schweet ill check it out :)
I bought EOS at $1.28 and around $0.50. I'm just holding for now.
nice post my friend, well this proofs that taking decision at right time really so beneficial, i remember another great decision you make when you put your picture and update your profile on that app through which you got your partner in shape of bianca, so i think making good decision and being proactive is a fantastic habit and really gives good rewards in return, now that's an interesting question indeed, if i had 1K$ i love to buy steem no matter what it's rate would be because i know this coin has a great future and we should definitely see 10$ steem in near future, Stay blessed and have fantastic weekend ahead my friend, thanks for sharing.
You have a great weekend too! And you know I like STEEM for an investment.
Great question, for today, if I had $ 1,000, you can basically buy any Alt. Why do I think so, because the price for buying on any Alt is very profitable and, in the first place, for Steem . Since there is a rule for the exchange, it is necessary to buy when the price falls, but I would not buy bitcoins now in the short term. Thank you @exyle
Hi steemians! @exyle thank you for great question. Today i sold some btc and i am very happy. I have plan to invest 1000$ in bank's crypto...can you guess which is it? There is great opportunity its price to rise more than 10 times. Yes i am talking about RIPPLE. My idea is to buy some at 0.2$ and sell at about 2$ next summer i hope. What do you think?
I definitely think thats a great idea, i think ripple has great potential and will do well, although the crypto market is never really predictable, i do have high hopes for ripple, and am holding some too
