Make A Two Piece Fibreglass Mother Mold

Building a two-piece fibreglass mother mold using polyester fibreglass resin, fibreglass matting & MEKP catalyst for the mother mold. Aluminium tape is used for the seam, plus PVA mold release and Carnauba wax for the mold release agent.

The model in this video is a skull candle holder housed in a latex mold.

Hey, this is actually pretty amazing, most of the time I see how people use the molds to cast some pretyy good stuff but never got to see how the actual mold is made and you explanation is very very good, thanks for sharing this man!

Btw, if you plan to make a mother mold, it might be best to make a 3-piece mother mold instead of a 2-piece as it will be easier to release from the main mold (latex). There will be a follow up video to this video which will include attaching legs and bolts. :)
