🎥 Cryptocurrency Market Overview | 18.04.2019

in #dtube6 years ago (edited)

Hello dear Steemians and Dtubers!

In this video I showed my CoinGecko T-Shirt that I received early in the morning from Bobby Ong, the co-founder of @coingecko.

Also, I commented on the latest CoinGecko Cryptocurrency Report for 2019 Q1 that @coingecko released 21 hours ago. You can find it on their Steemit page (@coingecko) and download the report for free.

In the 2019 Q1 Crypto Report of CoinGecko you can find a lot of interesting, useful and easy-to-read information about the latest news on the cryptocurrency market, the market of Initial Exchange Offerings, about Cosmos project (Cosmos token), what Non-fungible tokens are, etc.

For example, I showed and commented on a very interesting comparison between the blockchain Ethereum, EOS, STEEM and TRON on page 33 of their report:

CoinGecko compared the number of dApps build on the top of the different blockchains and the number of users of the different blockchains as well.

Enjoy watching the #video and, please, comment!

There is a lot of useful information for those wanting to know more about crypto.

I was just today looking up the statistics for new users on Steem .
@arcange does a great report.
Here is a link to the report I was reading :
https://steemit.com/statistics/@arcange/steem-statistics-20190416-en

It’s great to know coingecko has some info available.

I was not surprised about having less dapps then EOS, ethereum and Tron.

It’s my understanding that our dapps are better and we have a good range to cater for everyone. But then I might just be being biased. Lol.

One question about CoinGecko, do you need to login to CoinGecko to view that report or can you view without being signed up to CoinGecko?

Thank you for sharing.

Have an awesome day!

@mickvir, thank you for stopping by! Thank you for you very detailed comment!
I agree with you! The dApps in STEEM ecosystem are much better. For example on Ethereum and TRON most of the dApps are gaming and casino. So, STEEM is much better ecosystem.

On CoinGecko ... no, you can easily download the report for free. You don't have to log in anywhere. So, you may not sing up.

Have a great day!

I must admit I have not checked the dapps on Ethereum out , that’s why I said I maybe a bit bias. I have been focusing on STEEM blockchain.
I am aware of TRON being a gaming blockchain though . And I have checked them out to see what types of games they have.
As we only have a few games and it’s good to know what the competition has.

It’s great that you don’t have to sign in for the CoinGecko, thanks for letting me know.
One less password I need . 😂

Have an awesome day!

That was really a lot of useful information @cryptospa, I will be sure to check out that report as soon as possible.

@coingecko really is great and we have to be thankful they are here on Steem, and provide such great info.

@flaxz, yeah! They are doing quite well! And the reports they publish are very interesting and useful to read. I am also very happy that they are on STEEM blockchain!

Have a great day, my friend!

Thank you very much, already gone through the report.

So I actually started to do some digging into what kind of dApps the other cryptos have, and it turns out they have a lot of gambling, gaming and financial dApps.

The only real competitors in blogging and social seems to be Minds and Cents, but they are small.

So for blogging, social and videos Steem is on top, and I also happened to notice a dApp called @engrave.

Now this is particularly interesting from an affiliate marketing perspective since you can attach your own top domain name to your blog, and even have pages on it if I got things right.

The only downside seems to be that they take a 15% cut for themselves, when posting through them.

But that's not really a big deal when it comes to attract affiliate marketers to Steem, which is my next step, trying to bring them here, so this is very useful indeed.

Have a great day @cryptospa.

@flaxz, thank you very much for your detailed comment! First of all I will upvote it with 100 % of my SP.

Now, yeah, buddy! You are absolutely right. The other blockchains, such as Ethererum, TRON, etc have more dDapps than STEEM. But their dApps are gaming, casino, and financial services, as you have noticed. So, STEEM has high-quality dApps. I've been using Cents for the last 3 months. It is incomparable to STEEM. That's why I am a very big optimist to STEEM.
But, keep in mind, that the constant postponement of the SMT update is really not very beneficial for STEEM, because most of the dApps (on the top of STEEM Blockchain) have launched ERC-20 tokens. So, it means Ethereum benefits from us. But, let's see what will happen. At the very beginning I considered as a threat. I tought that Ethereum or TRON may swallow our STEEM ecosystem. But later I changed my mind and I've come to the conclusion that even if we don't have SMT update, and most of our dApps launch ERC-20 or TRX-10 tokens then STEEM may transform into some kind of connecting point between different blockchains.

And, what I want to ask you is about @engrave. Recently I have noticed it ... many people talk about, but I am still not familiar what it is.

Thank you for your answer @cryptospa, 100% to you too.

So I do realise that all delay of SMT is bad, and we need to get that up and running as fast as possible, and I don't have the knowledge to predict what will really happen if it takes too long, so let's hope it comes soon.

And in the meantime I will focus on getting people to Steem on the one area where we outshine eveyone else, social and blogging and video.

So onto @engrave, I happened to notice it on StateOfTheDapps, so they have built a dapp with regular bloggers in mind who wants to have their own domain name and theme and SEO and such, you can buy a Domain from them for 10 Steem by the way.

These are all things that look really attractive to non-steemians, and especially to affiliate marketers.
