My First Vlog! - How to Study the Steemit Pro's to Improve your Blog

in #dtube8 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemit Friends!

I finally took the plunge and made a vlog! I think video is such a great way to share content and connect on a more personal level and so i'm excited to give this a try. Today, I was thinking about how valuable it can be to identify the Steemians you find inspirational, and then learn from them. I feel like i've learned a lot from just obsersving people who are doing great things on this platform.

In this video, I discuss what I think makes someone a Steemit pro, and then a few tactics on how you can learn from them. There is also a call to action for engagement and some encouragement at the end. :)

Peace and love - xo @coruscate

Listened to this in the background while browsing and will say that it was very well done. You kept a solid flow and pace, were organized with your points, and didn't break character with the train blaring in the background as your started. No cuts/edits/slip ups... Very well done for your FIRST try. I'd definitely tune in since you are positive, respectful, and showed that you can focus on relevant topics that help the community. 5 stars.

Wow, thanks Matt! That damn train... lol. It’s hard to avoid because of how often it goes past my place, but the show must go on! 😜

Thanks so much for the positive feedback on the flow and place of the video. I could definitely work on reducing filler words and a few things like that, but I will hopefully get better as I do more videos.

Filler words and flow = personality, entertainment and being natural. Don't feel the need to change anything unless you prefer.

I hadn’t thought about it like that! Thanks for the encouragement. 😊

You touch on excellent points. All things I apply as much as possible. Slowly but surely, I am growing. It's good to hear these points that helped those who are successful to have become successful and know that I am applying them too. I know I will become successful too in due time ;)

Oh I have no doubt you will be a steemit pro one day @binkyprod! 😉 In fact, I bet you already have tons of people who think you are inspirational! I know that I am always so impressed by the quality of your writing in the thoughtfulness of your comments.

Thank you :) I appreciate that.

Cool, keep vlogging! I think it was spot-on. Also some people tend to forget that building a "community" takes time and effort. It's not something that happens overnight.

You make an excellent point @bennierex. Trying to build a community can be a long and often frustrating process. But it really does happen one interaction at a time. At least in my experience, the users that I feel most connected to our the ones that actually responded and interact with me in the comments.

Thanks for stopping by and listening! I’m feeling pretty good after this first of vlog, so I will likely make one again soon!

Awesome! Looking forward to it.

so you're putting importance on community engagement. be observant and pinpoint what might be making someone successful on steem. get ideas on how you can improve your content, etc. i think these are series of logical steps that almost anybody can execute. this is great stuff. the question is who's willing to execute?!

You’ve got it exactly right. Creating high-quality content and engaging with the community all takes a lot of time, effort and drive. Even if someone doesn’t have a lot of time to spend on steemit because of other life responsibilities, I think that staying consistent and hopping on here a little bit every day will still be beneficial in the long run.

Thanks for listening!

@coruscate, what you said about creating a community really resonated... where people are interacting and getting to know each other. I think this is very key! To me, it's like you are creating a garden - a space for the seeds of life (fellow steemiters) to grow and bloom!

I wanted to share my practical strategy, as I've been doing it for the past few days and it's been super effective thus far:

  1. Create the best content possible: long form, text and picture focused
  2. Read 30-50 posts from the community each day
  3. Leave thoughtful responses on each post
  4. Invite each user to experience a recent article of yours

Keep creating videos! You have a wonderful presence :) I have followed you as I feel you are someone that I can learn from (already took notes on how you present your past articles at the bottom of this post, it's a great visual representation!).

I'd love to hear your thoughts about my recent post: This Is Why I Live My Life Inversely

I love your analogy about the garden! Also, reading and contributing to 30 to 50 posts a day is an incredible achievement! I have no doubt that you will build a great community around you with that level of engagement. Heading to go check out your post right now... 😊

You make some pretty good points. Im totally new here so your video was very helpful

Welcome to steemit! I’m so glad that you got some helpful takeaways. If you ever have questions, feel free to reach out to me, I will do my best to help. 😊

ah totally awesome, thank you so much. I just may have a few. oh wait I have one right now. How can i change my photo. Ive been searching around for that and cant figure it out

Great question! I found this article that walks you through it step by step with photos on how to do it.

no way, ah ha totally awesome you completly rock so much!! thanks a million. hopefully i get a picture in there haha

I think that your analysis is correct - building a community will lead to success.

There are a lot of different ways one can measure success, but I really do think that community engagement is one of the best markers. Thanks for listening!

I measure success by health and happiness, so hopefully it'll at least contribute to the happiness part.

My motto in life has always been, learn from people who have what you want! I think you applied this to your video topic perfectly.

That’s a great motto! Glad the video connected with you! 😊

Great vlog. Always good to see the person behind the ideas.

Thanks for taking the time to listen @jr11!

Yeah Great video thanks for suggestions, I will it to be steemit pro ;)

Glad you found the video helpful! Intention is a powerful tool, especially when paired with hard work. 😉

I just know that you are creating healthy community environment for everyone especially for weak people as like me :) who still do not know many things about steemit.
