Right now the number of followers does not increase rapidly because the steem blockchain has only 60k active accounts on average. That why at this stage people create engagement and communauty to help each other.
Yes, you are right @chesatochi, and wouldn't it be great, if we were all ready into a curating habit, once the blockchain user rate moons :)
