How to you find out about contests to enter them before it is too late?
@calisay tells us about the steemify app I had not heard of before
I use Steemify app by @blockbrothers to know when someone is posting. It sends you a message instantly so it is really good to enter contests where you have to answer fast.
... and you don't need to login anywhere!!
Really good job with the Beta for Android. I use It every day as an 'alert' for my fav author posts and contests. And also for all that happens to my account: replies, mentions, votes, transfers...
@blockbrothers chimes in right away to help, so they are responsive!
That is actually a quite clever reason to use our app Steemify! Thx for spreading the word.
The iOs version is in the appstore.
Get it Here:

@mariannewest jumps on this immediately because she is one smart cookie!
That is great to know!! Usually, everything is for android first. Going to find it right now.
@wandrnrose7 wants in too!
How do I get this for Android?
@blockbrothers will help you!
If you happen to be on android, mail [email protected] for the beta.
@braaiboy enters contests
I often enter contests.
a) It helps me stay more active here on Steemit and
b) Well... it's cool to win shit :-)
I belong to a few discord servers for some programs (ContestKings, SBI etc.) where random authors are allowed to promote their own contests. It's also pretty easy to find contests using hashtags like #contestkings #steembasicincome and even #contest.
@joanstewart gives us lots of help
Contests are fun, meeting new people.
Most of the contests I have joined are in communities like @steembasicincome @phototalent @steemitbloggers @qurator
And tells us about the @braaiboy contest he did not mention. That's a good one I enter weekly.
Others I see are in @steemkitchen one with our local flavour enjoyed around the world is #MeatyMondays with @braaiboy - loads of braai cooking done in many parts of the world. Now to find awesome recipes!
And she gives me my only zap comment on my znap post! Sigh... Thank you @joanstewart for my zap.
Here’s what @shaidon does
I enter @contestkings contests for Steem Monsters cards, Steem Basic Income, and various other things.
Why Enter Contests?
@murathe tells us
Apart from the need to create networks and be engaged, the many contests organized are a big source of any starter pack for beginners, and I did get my very first bit of steem this way.
@digital.mine is happy for the information
Thanks to you now I know where to get funny contest to enroll myself in ;)
@checky keeps me honest
This post contained some typos in its mentions that have been corrected in less than a day. Thank you for your quick edit !
@maarnio runs the crypto contest you should be entering daily.
Thank you for the mention.
@xcountytravelers is fairly new on STEEM and a force to be reckoned with!
There are a few contests that I do without much effort at all. I basically write a post and use the normal tag like "archisteem" and "travelfeed". Those are pretty much just the passive types of entries. @Scottf tends to do more in the way of challenges with his photography, but I don't think he knows where to find others.
@travoved is working the system!
In my case I try to participate in contest and giveaways regularly. To find then I use tags like contest or giveaway. Also in this year I participated in @originalworks writing contest, @coingecko contests and some other. For me it is interesting because I can try my forces in this challenges and also get some Steem.
@thaishps is having good success
When I started at Steemit, I was attracted by the possibility of earning some money that would help me cope with the crisis in my country. And the contests were very helpful. I continue to participate in them as much as I can on all those who reward with SBI.
In addition, writing in Steemit allows me to do therapy, it allows me to disconnect from my environment and recover my peace.
I love the @felt.buzz, @mermaidvampire, @steembasicincome and @originalworks contest.
Recently, I found the blog of @contestkings, I joined his Discord and I found you 😀.
I knew about @qurator reading your post. I made my request, I am encouraged by the fact that if they do not accept me they will say that I should improve to reapply. That is win-win.
If you are posting great content reqularly, @qurator has a place for you too! Check out this post to find out about @qurator and give it a try.
@mariannewest is wondering how to keep up with everything
I see contests and other opportunities I want to enter. then I get busy and forget until it is too late. Part of it is that I am trying very hard to balance on and offline life and spending way more time offline right now. When I am on here, I first try to visit the freewriters and take care of freewrite house activities. At this point, if I don't do it right then and there, I end up not doing it.
@richard78624 has a good plan to remember how to enter
Yes I do enter contest usually the same ones and I resteem them and look at my blog to check the people who have them.
@vincy is grateful for the help
Thanks for doing all the research and putting it all in one post!
@minhaz007 enters contests!
Yes i like to entry in contest. I am contest lover. I love sbi contest more
@gniksivart
@contestkings is my favorite way to enter contests and have been pretty lucky with some of the steem monster giveaways. Thanks for sharing the other contests as well. @anomadsoul also puts on a lot of great contests occasionally.
YES! @anomadsoul often works with @blocktrades for great contest offerings!
@jenina619 is a winner!
Well the funny thing is that I actually do not chase contests they chase me and I always win!
@jayna has a lot of tips and her own contest too!
Hi @fitinfun! I found your post on @contestkings. Such great questions!
I love Steemit contests and have entered many, mostly writing contests of one sort or another, such as short stories and haiku. I also have occasionally entered photography challenges. In the fall I won a trip to SteemFest 3 via a writing contest, which was the most thrilling thing I've ever won, and it was the experience of a lifetime. (And while I was in Krakow, I won 30 SBD in a contest by @goldmatters. There's a cute recap here.)
Contests are a great way to rub elbows with like-minded people, in addition to providing motivation to write and post on your blog. And if you enter enough contests, you win some of them!
I run a weekly 50-word short story contest (using the #fiftywords tag), which provides a fun challenge: write an entire short story in exactly 50 words. I love seeing what people come up with each week based on a one-word prompt.
Contests and challenges are going to be featured in my 2019 New Year's resolutions. I've just joined the "Healthier 2019" challenge launched by @anomadsoul and plan to lose 10 pounds between now and the end of March. I just posted my goals today. Speaking of weight loss, wow your journey is impressive and inspiring! I really look forward to learning from you.
Another New Year's resolution of mine is to participate in more contests and challenges, so the timing of this post is amazing. Contests and challenges are such a great way to build your account value; whether or not you win, you have things to post and communities of people to connect with. Commenting and appreciating other people's contest entries is an excellent way to show support and engage with interesting Steemians.
I need to get better at all of this. I've started regularly checking Contest Kings, which is how I found this post. I also try to regularly check the #contest tag. And now I'm going to check out all the links you supplied!
I do enter the fiftywords contest and love the idea. And winning a trip to SteemFest! Wow! Good one :)
@rufusfirefly
I like to enter contests. I especially like to win, which I have done a few times.
@steem-ua tells my how I'm doing here and gives me a nice vote!

@simonjay speaks of the difficulties of some of the contests, and I so agree
I didn't really take part in any challenges or contests when I first started on Steemit, they were often too time consuming for barely any gains and the chances or winning were so low due to so much competition.
But about 4 or so months ago I started getting more involved as the Steem price tanked and made it incredibly difficult to gain any rewards. I think I may speak for most when I say I find most contests a good experience but some also require way too much effort for something that wont even be worth 1 cent.
This is why I often look for simpler contests to enter it's not so much because I am lazy but often "time" is just not on my side which is why contests that want stories or for you to watch 30min long video clips, or write full posts among many other things I just avoid them like the plague, don’t get me wrong some people offer big prizes for these bigger kind of contest but the problem is most of these get flooded with people, some competing spent 2 or 3 days writing one of these entries and for what? Well mostly nothing, when you could of wrote 3 normal posts and gained 3 times as much without spending hours of you life.
As for not forgetting posts I mainly look at @steembasicincome or @contestkings, I guess I could set-up notifications but if I haven't got to a contest it just means I haven't had the time.
I don’t really have a particular contest I enter all the time people either stop doing them eventually or change the rules like insisting on resteems or inviting friends which then I don't enter any competitions who ask of these, upvotes no problem as I think every contest should at least request a upvote "just dont ask for %100 upvotes" not only for in a sense "saying thank you" to the person who is hosting but it could possibly create enough funds for a 2nd competition.
Whew! That’s it! Lots of good information and engagement which I appreciate so much. And now on to the important part:
Winners!
I decided to pick 9 winners instead of 4. These people are are posting regularly so the sbi will be put to good use.
My son’s account @bxlphabet sent 1 each sbi share to:
I’m posting exercise, health, ptsd info and travel to @bxlphabet while my son is not able to be here.
My new @fitinfunfood account sent 1 sbi each share to:
All my food posts are on @fitinfunfood now. Everyone wants to know what I eat now that I have been “half my size” for 8 years. It’s not about me – it’s about you; and doing the best you can with your food, so please join me over there.
My personal account @fitinfun sent 1 sbi each share to:
I post everything else @fitinfun. Loving the STEEM journey, so please join me :)

It is that time of year when the fitness equipment is out and the diet books are being read. I lost "Half My Size" eight years ago by using natural methods, and you can too!

Thanks for the great information all in one place, some are attracted to certain contests while others support completely different topics or ideas for contests. Thank you so much for the contest Sharon and Caleb.
Yeah, contests have helped with ideas for content
I only do those that I resonate with and there's plenty to choose from
And winning is always the bonus :D
Congratulations to the winners :)

Thank you so much!! And we still need your Amazon link 😀

Super thanks for the opportunity, and outlining a thousand chances/contest s for the many us. Congratulations to every participant, we made it, the winners.
Awesome! Thank you very much!
You're welcome! The more the better for sbi! Thank you for the great comment and entering the contest :)
Thanks! I really need to learn more about SBI. I have won some and have been given some, but I actually don’t know a lot about it yet. I’ll see what I can find via @steembasicincome.
It's a great program. Look at one of their contest posts. You can win shares in many places here. Once you have so many (???) you will get a vote from them on every post you publish. I go after them like crazy. When I give you one I get one too. This is why people are eager to offer them.
This vote usually comes from sbi3 or sbi4 etc. They have levels.
I'm glad you won and thank you for entering with your good information :)
