I beg to differ. One is able to find inspiration by watching others. You can to emulate certain things that you found entertaining. Certain techniques and such. The key is balance. You spend too much too watching, you will do less.
I don't think you shouldn't watch anything. But the point is to make a distinction and be aware of that. If you want to create then you have to actually do it.
