Youtube alternatives - Diversify and backup your content

in #dtube7 years ago

I think many of us are not happy with how YouTube is operating this days, where politics and YouTube moral is controlling who and what can exist on the platform. Most of us agree that it's okay to try to clean out the extreme stuff that are sadly on the platform, but unfortunately there is many other that are caught in this process.
But if that's not enough, they also make it harder for smaller channels to succeed on the platform by putting in some pretty hard rules before you can become a YouTube partner.

Hopefully YouTube can turn this around and make the platform better again, but in the meantime all content creator should consider alternative platforms to put their content on.

Here is just some examples of alternatives site you can use instead of YouTube

1. Dtube

Ofc this platform will be first on the list since it's on the Steem blockchain, is decentralized and is currently attracting some big youtubers. On Dtube will you as a creator be rewarded for each upvote you receive from your audience and there is no ads on here.
The platform is young so it is not perfect yet, but it is constantly evolving with new updates.
Here can you read more about what Dtube actually is:

2. Bitchute

Is a video sharing website which appeared as an alternative to YouTube without a censorship and using BitTorrent technology to spread the load of serving its content to users, rather than its own servers.
Bitchute aims to put its creators first and give them a service that they can use to flourish and express their ideas freely and aims to be the number one alternative for YouTube.

Here is a video explaining how to upload a video to this platform:

3. Vidlii

Vidlii is an international video sharing site created in 2015 and originally known as VidBit. Their niche is that their appearance of the site is a clone of the old YouTube theme. So if you want a nostalgic trip back in to 2008 YouTube this is the place for you.
The site is focusing on what made YouTube a success from the start. Having Star Rating System, non-Crazy and Insane focus on Copyright and Content.
Here you can also even become a Vidlii partner and earn some revenue from ads if that is what your goal with your content is.

4. TheVlogs

This is a website which niche on vloggers.
Their own definition for the site is:
"TheVlog is a video sharing website based in the U.S. and is best known for it’s politically charged video content. The platform offers content creators and visitors a place to express their views and have peaceful discourse without fear of retribution.".

So remember that there are several alternatives out there to place your content on. I haven't even listed all alternatives here so there are more sites to be found.

One day DTube will be one of the biggest video hosting platforms! One day...

Leta hope so :D

People stay on YouTube because of a range of people on this platform. Unfortunately, censorship has a bad impact on them so more and more people try to use another platform. I think, that in the future platforms like DTube supplant YouTube because of reward which creators and also watchers can get.

Thanks for this article and I think, that in nearly future there will be more people on our platform.

Yeah YouTube is still number one because of the range of people there. But I think some of the other platforms will have a good chance to take some of the people
