'My Vocation is Love' – Introducing Thérèse of Lisieux
In my last post, I discussed a new video series I've begun to create, dealing with the topic of female Christian mystics. This is the first video of the series! Here, I’m introducing the wonderful Thérèse of Lisieux, who was a Carmelite nun in Lisieux, northern France, during the late nineteenth century. Her life was short – she died in 1897, at the age of 24 – but it was marked by a sense of deep reverence, grace and humility. ❤️🌹
In this video, she discusses what the words "vocation" and "pledge" can mean to people living in the modern era, the "chasm" between Church dogma and the lived experience of being on your spiritual path, and the inherent beauty of every person. 💕
She also has a message to share in this video about World War I, and the futility of war in general.
