Bass improvisation #8

in #dtube6 years ago

In this video I play with a distorted and dark oriental sound, with a low drone note often present. It's the first video where I don't use my fretless bass, and this bass inspires me in a very different manner.

I play on a Warwick bass and it's recorded through IK Multimedia's Amplitube with several effects (reverb, delay, distortion, .

Which bass is that? Kind of reminds me of a peavey.

It's a Warwick Corvette

Cool thanks, i couldn't quite see the headstock. How do you like warwick? I've never had the chance to play one.

Yeah I need to find a way to make more of the bass visible on the videos. I'll try filming with a fisheye lens next time.

The Warwick has a really deep and rich sounds, and the unvarnished bubinga wood looks great. However it's very heavy (about 5 kilos I think), but since I mostly play while sitting it's not a big problem.

I have the same problem fitting my stingray in frame. I've heard people say the heavier the bass the better the tone. Though its tough on the back.

I've heard this also, not sure if it's true of of if the difference is only psychological.. In any case back health is quite more important than the small possible difference in tone!

Definitely, i separated my sternal clavicular joint a whilr back and heavy guitars bug the heck out of it.

This must be unpleasant... I sympathise, back problems here. Aging is hard.
