Electro-orchestral / THE MANDELBROT SET
This is part of my orchestral work for small ensembles. I call this Electro-Orchestral because I don't have a full Orchestra available to me everyday of the week, actually no days of the week, so I laid down all the parts for all the instruments on keyboards and computers myself instead. I often fantasize of having these pieces played by a live orchestra and to have it performed live with real instruments, 1 harp, 1 clarinet, 1 oboe, 2 fiddles, 1 cello, 1 bass and 1 retro keyboard with their respective musicians would be needed. I call this one The Mandelbrot set:
zn+1 = zn2 + c
Creating infinity with mathematics. In this piece I try to recreate this concept by looping a melody, inspired by the classic image of a set, adding to each run, zooming in and creating my own type of musical Mandelbrot set... Fractal harmonies.
