RE: 10 Ways To Get a Competitive Advantage By Arriving Early

in #dsound6 years ago (edited)
So true, Terry. One of my instructors had a habit of starting class 5 minutes early to reward those who arrived on time. She would offer important bits of information even before taking attendance. It paid, not just to be on time, but to be early as well.

Just in case

Another thought is, what if the speaker doesn't show? You have a room full of important guests and the presenter can't make it. Because you, Terry Brock, are known for being prepared and showing up 30 minutes before an event, the host asks to speak with you:

Terry, Ralph can't make it. Do you have anything ready that you can present?

As a matter of fact, I do!

This is your big chance!

You brought your trusty flash drive, loaded with a just-in-case Powerpoint of success tips. Your killer presentation handed you important contacts amongst the titans of industry. Richard Branson won't stop calling you! All of this because you were early - and ready - when Fortune knocked.

I love the way you describe that, @evernoticethat. Yes, being ready or, as the Boy Scouts say, "Be Prepared," is a good model to have.

Thank you for your kind words. Always good to hear from you.
