Just 30 minutes after I swallowed a caffeine pill for the first time, it felt as if Thor had given me his own wings, because I was flying out of sheer productivity. I could not believe the amount of power I felt, only moments after intake, and it kept going all day. For those that have read my Russian Grammar review, this is partly what summoned the insane results as it was the caffeine that kept my eyes pointed at the words of this beautiful language for hours on end. Not only does it make your focus impeccable, but it gives you feelings of temporary happiness, because caffeine just so happens to relieve depression by elevating serotonin and dopamine, and has even been shown to lower suicide rates. Of course, it's up to everyone to channel the energy brought by the drug; it is highly toxic to believe that you take drugs and feel good. No! You take them and take advantage the energy and your elevated mood you perhaps otherwise wouldn't have, so the trick is to use the power the little time you have it. It might be tempting to sit back and enjoy the feelings of tingling caffeine happiness, but believe me, it's going to end badly since that's all it is - caffeine happiness, i.e. artificial "happiness". There's a reason it's called a performance booster; not a relaxation inducer, and it must be harnessed. This especially applies to people who have gone through serious childhood trauma, and who are therefore are many times more prone to depression, myself included.

Pros: Insanely long-lasting performance duration, roughly 20-minute incubation period, antidepressant, relatively easy to kick, should it develop into habit
Cons: Will make your mood much worse if you're already feeling down, can (and probably will) keep you up all night, can cause anxiety and panic attacks

Summary: Caffeine can be an excruciatingly effective, yet mild, drug which can either make you work really hard or have a panic attack, should you consume it in some terribly bad circumstance. It is a highly emotional drug, thus should probably not be misused by people who are less than averagely emotionally stable. It takes conscious effort to make the experience as positive and pleasurable as possible; if not done right, high doses could lead to some serious anxiety episodes. If you are a natural hard worker who needs no stimulants, great! However if you're usually tired during the creative process, then you might want to consider investing in a bottle of fresh, stingy caffeine pills.
Highly recommended, but be cautious!

I think the most important thing when you're taking performance enhancing pills/drinks/food, is to regulate the tolerance, not let it get to a point where these things change your biorhythm, behaviour and relations with other people.

In moderation caffeine is amazing. However, I only took caffeine pills once and I experienced the worst panic attack of my life. Lesson learned I guess.
