What is Drop in the Ocean?...

Patterns

///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\

The topic this week was patterns, and the week before we had identity. As we all strive to find our way in this maze of social interaction be it online or offline many patterns in our behaviour and how we handle situations will occur, our identities get formed and seem to become more clear as we repeat the patterns that make us whom we wish to be.

The pattern I think we are most aware of is that of human behaviour especially if you work with strangers all day. That makes it a bit simpler to identify behaviour across multiple subjects each encounter making you a bit more prepared for the next. This is however not 100% precise and people will always surprise you - or to use the technical term "Screw things up". It is still fun and valuable to note how people respond to specific things, even just standing in a line at the supermarket you should be able to easily identify many familiar behaviorisms.

This should then obviously apply to yourself as you note your own nuances. I tend to take note of many things that have become a pattern with me and as much as I say what I want there are just some things I will never truly share. These patterns are for me to know and as such, you should have what you should keep close.

Time to shut up with my nonsensical bullshit and share the awesome posts everyone made for the show.

This weeks content

@YouHaveWings takes us on a walk through her dreams and into a world where patterns are not your average checkered flag. She shares with us a very specific one which has significance beyond that of human comprehension.
@Thehive takes a look at the patterns we have, our behaviour, habits and thinking. He touches on many points that are all broad topics of research. From patterns that can be observed in an ugly jersey that Grandma makes to Fibonacci

@BluefinStudios sees much more than many of us ever will, his keen eye is always on the look out specifically for patterns to capture before they are gone forever in an ever changing world of chaos. Capturing the beauty of a moment is the task at hand, as he shares with us his aim as photographer.
@ShadowsPub gives us some more insight on behaviour with a humorous story about an eavesdropping lady in the best fashion possible. This story has stood the test of time as it is the signature sign-off from our favourite show host. After reading her fantastic story go listen to the ramble recordings for the full experience.

@JuliaMulcahy wrote a fantastic piece of almost futuristic fiction, a relatable story wonderfully woven into many. Playing with stories and shedding some light on many of the everyday patterns we display each day, her story is a beautiful matrix.
@DreemSteem highlights patterns that she experiences, aptly delivered in a touching poem. A perfect unison of mental patterns incorporated in the pitter patter flow of words capable of conveying emotion beyond what a person might feel a collection of letters ever could.

Next Topic - VALIDATION

I totally stole this from @TheHive's Post

This weeks word is Validation. Everyone is welcome to write a post about this word, Write something that relates to validation. Simple as that. A show is hosted in the Buddy Up server on discord and the word is discussed through the sharing of a publication on the word. BuddyUp Discord

Drop in the Ocean is every Monday at 20:00 UTC , you create a post on the topic however you wish. Publish it either the Sunday before or on the day of the Show, which means your post will still be viable to be shared in shows such as PYPT but also so we may have a change to read it before the show and the payout will be a little reminder to get your next Drop in the Ocean Post ready.

I am Penderis and and this was my Drop in the Ocean Post for the topic of the week Patterns to find out more visit @BuddyUp and look for Drop in the Ocean.

Thought it would be silly to include my own.

Oh I didn’t know you were still doing this, excellent. The design is similar to my peoples ancient pottery. Lovely and I really like that gif display howd you do that?

!tip

The backslash pattern? The gif I did in photoshop you can do it in gimp also, I went the lazy route and setup the start where you see all the text then duplicated and moved the text up. In your gif setup then you only make one at a time visible so you get the movement. In photoshop I could have just used one layer I think and had the movement tweened but it seemed like effort haha :)

Thank you for the tip :)

Great job! I don’t have that ability yet. New computer needed badly. It’s on its last leg now.

Tip!
