Our Favorite Texas Margarita
When living in Texas friends used to love coming to my house for margaritas and my family
has spread the recipe all around.
It seems that the margarita graze has roots in Dallas as restaurant owner,
Mariano Martinez, was getting so many requests for his margaritas that
he needed a way to make them faster and with greater consistency.
He happened to see a self-serve ice cream machine in another establishment and
decided to buy one and modify it to fit his margarita making needs.
Since the 1930s people have enjoyed margaritas but it became harder
and harder for bartenders to keep up with demand during busy times.
Our favorite Texas margarita recipe:
6 oz. tequila
12 oz. beer (any kind but we like the lighter beers for this)
1 small can frozen lime juice concentrate
Ice cubes
Blend
Dip rim of glass into lime juice and coat with margarita salt
Garnish with lime round.

I have spoiled my wife for Restaurant/Bar Margaritas (at least that's what she says).
It's in the Vita-Mix recipe book:
1 large or 2 medium Oranges (peeled)
1 Lemon (peeled)
1 Lime (peeled)
2 Tbsp Sugar
Tequila & Triple Sec to taste
Ice
Blend until smooth & remove clothes.

Sound like a well made Margarita but for me in a pinch any margarita will do or if there is no tequila and it is a hot Texas day that 12oz beer can do a stand up job all alone.

Gotta upvote fellow Texans! when I'm in the "mixer" section in the store and see peeps buying margaurita mix, I always say, go get the frozen lime concentrate, works best for flavor and crushed ice!!!
